Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On 1/14/2019 I checked my bank statement and found a "recurring charge to Netflix" of $15.14 from 12/31/2018. I don't have Netflix account, never have had one. I found Netflix online and reported THEIR error in a comments box. I was directed to another page that wanted $5.00 and my credit card info. I sensed a scam and logged off.

On 1/15/2019 I called Prosperity Bank to report. They said they couldn't do much since it was charged to my debit card, but they cancelled my old card, will issue new one. They agreed it sounded like a scam.

I went online to report this scam, found "Netflix Scam FTC" and logged on. Previously a scam (ongoing for about a year or more) targeted Netflix users with "something's wrong with your account, send your credit card info".

But this new phishing scam that targets people using debit cards for bank recurring payments (like for health insurance, cable TV, internet, etc.) sounds new, and is very scary.

I attempted to report this to the FTC but could not, due to government shutdown. So it's up to us to get the word out there!
