NETGEAR One of the WORST products I have EVER used, HORRID Value for My Money, WOULD NOT Recommend that ANYONE use their products San Jose, California
I purchased a Netgear wireless signal adapter a few days ago, so my PC would be able to pick up my wireless internet signal, and I could eliminate the Ethernet cables that have taken over my house.
When I went to the store to get the adapter, I assumed that all adapters were the same, and that they would all do the same job. I could not have been more wrong. As with anything else in life, the name of the brand matters.
Like I said earlier, I bought this Netgear adapter, the best adapter Netgear had to offer, and when I took it home, there were issues almost instantly... AS SOON as I installed the drivers from the CD, My computer became very slow, sluggish, and froze up in the middle of simple tasks. My computer is 3 years old, yes, but there is still no reason for any computer to freeze up that often.
I then connected the adapter to my computer, and the issues intensified. Not only that, but it couldn't find my network, no matter where the router was in relationship to the adapter. Keep in mind that the box said it is supposed to find a signal up to 300 feet away, and the router is supposed to send the signal 400 feet away, so there should have been no trouble, even if the router was at the next door neighbor's house. I certainly did have issues, though.
I finally uninstalled everything, disconnected the adapter, and returned it to the store. IMMEDIATELY after I uninstalled the CD from the Netgear crap, the issues stopped. Sounds interesting. I have never delt with a product so useless and crappy in my life, and believe me, I have seen some pretty crappy products in my day.
NEVER, EVER use Netgear. Who knows what it could do to YOUR computer...
