it's the same garbage internet you get from clearwire. i live in a huge metroplex and live less than a mile from two 4g internet towers. the netzero hotspot device is constantly losing its connection and never has more than two bars.
when i tried to explain to "customer service" they used every excuse they could to try and make it sound like it was my fault!
"put the hot spot in the window so it will get better reception"
"did you reset the device?"
"perhaps there are trees in your yard? maybe the trees are blocking the signal"
"yes it does show you are in our coverage area on the map on our website. however, our map does not allow for variables such as terrain or the construction of your house. perhaps there is too much brick in your house"
I don't live at the bottom of a canyon inside a lead bunker!
if the device is sitting in the window sill and doesn't work in a regular house in a neighborhood that's so new it barely even has trees LESS THAN A MILE FROM THE TOWER, then maybe there is something wrong with the device!
I tried to explain this to customer service but they were so busy interupting my with excuses that i just hung up.
i changed my debit card number so that they couldn't bill me anymore or charge me any stupid cancellation fees and am now using another internet service provider somewhere on the VERIZON

I using the service for almost a year 200MB a month. I am using the hotspot for my Nexus 7 checking emails, browsing the web, reading news.
I am really happy with the service.
In a few month I am moving the service for $19.99 [1GB]. This is more that i need.
If you planing to watch movies in Nexflix and download HD videos this is not for you,... but for the regular email and browsing rutine this is more that we can ask.
I will recomend this for business if data plan of your cell plan sucks. Data plans are expensive and Monopolies dont do absolutelly nothing to make it cheaper.
I already canceled my cell plan and using the google phone [free] no for voice but for messages. In case of emergencies i can connect using my Magic jack account.
probably I am saving $100 a month with a few of these changes and the service of Netzero.
Thank You netzero for a great service

I've had Netzero 4G service for about 1.5 years, and has been useful and economical for me. Granted, their service is only economical for people who need limited 4G service as some magazine articles have stated. At home I use a cable broadband service for more unlimited service for personal and work use. I use the NetZero service for limited use when away from home to look at email and some internet use, instead of more costly monthly unlimited hotspot or smartphone service which I didn't feel that I needed. I've used a tablet or ipod touch for this. I've never gone over the limited service level, but depends somewhat on what you do with the service also - email and light web browsing would use limited service. While some downloads, movie/video/youtube, and music - multi-media will use up the service much faster. If you need that service, then you probably should look for a different service provider. Another limitation is that netzero is only offering 4g service which is only available in major metropolitan areas, no 3g. So if you need the service other locations, you may need a provider that includes 3g also - provider coverage maps on their internet sites usually provide this info.
However, if this is the right fit for you, it can provide wireless service for little money and save hundreds a year over some other more unlimited options that may not be needed.
Note that while you are charging the unit, you can press the on/off button so that it charges only and doesn't broadcast the internet signal. I'm surprised that support didn't explain that. Also note that the problem with the anti-virus would primarily be the large update downloads that they do, which could use up a substantial amount of service. Best to schedule that to occur from your home broadband provider - also would run faster.

The only way that I can see how one can use-up data while charging a hotspot device, is if one is "connected" to the Internet while charging the device. Other than that, I agree with the reports before me.
I paid $79.95 for my stick device on 04-13-2012. I thought this was expensive but since it came with 200MB a month for a whole year, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that I kept my NetZero dial-up service during this period, because I soon realized that 200, or even 500MB a month, is not enough for even the casual web surfer. NetZero has good dial-up plans, but their 4G plans are one of the worst in the business.
I made this clear to them in a survey. I'm hoping that they will revamp there plans in order to make them more competetive with other 4G providers.

I had just purchased my 4g device and only used it for an hour on to get a notice that I have used up my data. REALLY?? bottom line I called and wasd told I should turn off all programs and antivirus. Now why would I turn off my anti virus if I'm searching the web. I haven't even had the device for 2 weeks. So just charging your unit and having programs open runs up data. These people are CROOKS. Mr Wright I so agree with you.
