When I went to the dealership to have my new Grand Cherokee maintained for it's 25,000 mile check up, I was treated like a lower class by the Service Dept. Especially by a man named Quinton who has acted Racist towards me before on another visit.

I entered the building to get my work done, was taken care of by a man who was professional. I was also not given any courtesy shuffle to take me to the bank -I had to walk there instead in the 98 degree Carolina Heat! I did so, with a friend by my side the whole time. They called me on my cell phone while I was having lunch (near the bank) so I called them back when I noticed, they gave me the run around that they had no idea if my truck was ready or not, put me on hold and then hung up on me.

We (my friend and I) went back on foot to the dealership (which was on the other side of a construction site that we had to cut through to get to the bank). When I went into the Service Department, I stood in front of 3 men (not the one who took my keys earlier). waited. no response to me. I sat down figuring they were ALL on a major business related computer need because they did not even LOOK at me!

My friend was shortly behind me and I ranted outloud to her when we noticed a White Woman come in after me and she was instantly greeted with a "May I help you" and a smile. I did not see a smile, even while waiting for another 25 minutes for them to wash my car (which should have been done according to the paperwork I signed up for).

so why did they call me if my car was not done? What color does a woman have to be, as we know it was the only difference I had from customer #2. My friend by the way is white and while we were there she was given eye contact by the Service Department. Why? It was not her car that was bought here, and being worked on here. Racism. Plain and Simple, the South has learned nothing and it is being accepted even today. What is next?
