On June 19, 2002 my home telephone service was connected with Nevada Telephone company. The stated rates were $19.90 per month plus a $55.00 set up fee. I paid those charges.

The rates were inclusive of all taxes, tariffs, and other fees.

I also paid $19.90 on July 19.

On August 20th, I went to their offices to pay the bill. They informed me the bill is now $40.66 because they raised their rates.

The employee then retrieved a letter dated June 1, 2002 explaining the rate increases. This is LESS than TWO WEEKS after I subscribed to this telephone service. I was NEVER informed of the rate increase or I would have NEVER signed up with Nevada Telephone.

I then personally spoke with Robert A. Jankovics, the president of Nevada Telephone. He told me that Nevada Telephone did not know the rates were going to go up.

Once again, the letter they gave me is dated LESS THAN 2 WEEKS after I subscribed.

When I informed Mr. Robert Jancovics (president of Nevada Telephone) that this is FRAUD, he simply stated "we don't like to think of it that way".

I explained that I will not pay the higher rates. He then explained that if I go to "Sprint" (the main telephone company in the Las Vegas area) they will connect me at no charge.

He was wrong about that too. Sprint WILL charge, as this is NEW service, not continuation of previous service.

Mr. Jankovich did not agree to continue business with me at the original contracted price of $19.90/month nor did he offer a refund of my connection fee, (rather he's expecting ANOTHER company to pay it).

This is direct bait and switch tactics. Nevada Telephone IS NOT controlled by the Nevada Public Utilities Commission so complaints must be filed with the Nevada Attorney General's office instead.

DO NOT USE NEVADA TELEPHONE COMPANY. THEY ARE A FRAUD.

Nevada Telephone Company also sells Insurance, beware, as they probably lure people into purchasing "cheap" insurance in the same manner as they do with the phone service.

The only resolution to this situation is that Nevada Telphone either refunds my connection fee ($55) or pays the new connection fees to the telephone provider of my choice (whichever is less) or continue providing service at the agreed upon rate of $19.90 per month.

I have been and remain a Customer of this company. I began service in Oct of 2004. I have never had a problem with billing, repair, or customer service with this company. My services run about $36 with all the bells and whistles (as Agreed) and I pay ontime (As Agreed). Never has my service been cut off nor have I had the need to call them for any thing in the two year period. If you read all paperwork and especially those that you sign, you wont have the problem as described above. HANG UP ON SPRINT... NEVADA TELEPHONE is NEVADA'S PHONE COMPANY!!!!

I am a customer of Nevada Telephone. I pay 24.09 this includes taxes. It does not include any extras and is what they quoted me when i opened my account with them. I do not feel that they have ripped me off at all.
