NEW ADDITION IS A LICENSED FACILITY AND NONE OF THESE THINGS MENTIONED IN SAID REPORT ARE ALLOWED FOR FACILITIES THAT ARE CONSTANTLY MONITORED BY THE STATE. I WOULD LIKE TO FURTHER ADD THAT THIS PERSON MAY HAVE FELT ILL TREATED BECAUSE OF THE REFUSAL TO ACCEPT A CHILD ON A DROP IN BASIS WHICH SOME CONSUMERS INSIST ON MAKING THEIR OWN RULES AND NOT FOLLOWING THEM. THAT IS THE ONLY THING WE WILL APOLOGIZE FOR. WE DO OUR BEST TOMAKE NEW ADDDITION HOME AWAY FROM HOME AND OUR HUNDREDS OF SATISFIED CLIENTS EACH YEAR CONVINCE US OF THAT. THIS IS NO RIP OFF!!! THE PARENT NEVERE RECEIVED ANY SERVICES..

FIRST OF ALL, I AM A PARENT WHO HAS HAD MY CHILD ENROLLED AT NEW ADDITION SINCE SHE WAS 6WEEKS OLD, NO SHE IS 4. THIS DAYCARE WAS A BLESSING FOR MY FAMILY AND I OVER THE PAST YEARS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASANT AND TRUSTING. IF A PERSON KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT LICENSED FACILITIES THEY WOULD KNOW THAT LICENSED DAYCARES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE WATER THAT RUNS. THIS FACILITY HAS 7 BATHROOMS, SINKS IN ALL THREE INFANT AND 'TODDLER ROOMS, ASWELL AS 2 SINKS IN THEIR KITCHEN AREA. NEW ADDITION IS THE ONLY DAYCARE I VISITED THAT DIDNT SMELL LIKE URINE. AS FOR DOORS BEING UNLOCKED, THEY ARE KEPT LOCKED WHEN THERE IS NO ONE AT THE DESK AND UNLOCKED IF PERSONS ARE AT THE DESK. FURTHERMORE, AS FAR AS I KNOW,THIS DAYCARE IS STRICTLY CONTRACTUAL AND NO DROP INS ARE ALLOWED. THIS PERSON MUST HAVE BEEN HAVING A BAD DAY!

I can understand the concern about the door being unlocked. Most childcare centers(as well as regular schools)will keep their doors "locked" to prevent unauthorized entrance. People inside are able to open the door. From the outside, the door can be opened with a passcode. Those without the access code may use the doorbell. I believe that this is the general standard most childcare places have. After all, it's our children's safety that is at stake.

I am a day care owner and totally understand your frustrations! Number one you need to report to the health department about the water situation. BUT number two...as a BUSINESS you cannot have your door locked. period. If you recognize when you go into a store you will see signs stating "this door must remain unlocked during business hours" that is the law..even in home day cares...I hate having my door unlocked...but it is a safety issue...as in if there were a fire.

I work for a county health department and I recommend that you report this immediately. Even though your son did not end up attending this daycare, I'm assuming this business is still in practice. Because of the things you witnessed, I would highly recommend notifying the health department. The well being of the other children are at stake....

Anytime you see things like no running water, you need to report a daycare to your local health department.
