New Horizon Kid's Quest, Inc. Kid's Quest does NOT have proper supervision. Kids hurt. Children withheld from parents. Las Vegas Nevada
My husband and I dropped off our 3 children at the Kids Quest in Santa Fe Station on Saturday, January 26, 2008. My children were there from approximately 6:40 until approximately 8:50 p.m. While there, one of my children had his money stolen and was kicked by another child. He had bruises on his body when we picked them up. My 2 sons ages 12 and 7 walked into the UNSUPERVISED gym and were hit countless times in the face by volleyball sized balls. According to the Kid's Quest site, the gym is supposed to be supervised. I would consider this false advertising.
My 3 year old daughter was able to get into the gym and while in there something significant happened to her that has left her traumatized. She came running out screaming with red marks on her face. She ran to her 12 year old brother who then had to pick her up and try to console her. Had she been SUPERVISED like she was supposed to be, we would know exactly what happened to her in that time she spent inside the gym.
My 12 year old son spent the remainder of his time at Kid's Quest holding his crying and hurt sister and being ignored by the Kids Quest workers. It was NOT MY SONS JOB to go searching for help. It is the job of the Kids Quest teammates to SUPERVISE these children and know exactly what happens to them. ESPECIALLY THE SMALL CHILDREN who cannot speak up and say what happened to them.
Upon our return to Kids Quest to pick up our children, we dealt with an EXTREMELY rude Kid's Quest employee. When the children saw us, they each came running to the locked gate. My older children were begging this individual to open the gate and she ignored their pleas. My daughter was crying hard and screaming for me, her mother. I was asked this person to open the gate. She ignored us. She felt it was too important to receive the payment for the child care that my kids DID NOT RECEIVE, yet I paid $7.40 per child per hour. After stamping the Kid's Quest cards, THAT WE WILL NOT USE AGAIN, This girl walked over to the gate and slowly unlocked it for my children to escape. I have never been so appalled. How dare this employee keep my children away from me? What right did she have to retain custody of MY CHILDREN?
I demanded to speak to a manager. There was only a supervisor on duty. The young girl was unable to reimburse me for the childcare my kids didn't receive. She was only able to furnish me with the first name of this rude employee. Then she provided me with a business card with the name of the Kids Quest Center Director. I called the next day to speak with the Center Director. She was very nice, but stated that she was not able to give us our money back. She could only say that she could offer my 3 kids 2 hours each of free care at any of the 5 kids quest locations. THAT is the best she can do. This is of no use to me. My children have begged me to never take them there again. I asked if there were ever any other complaints about the rude teammate and she said she had received complaints about her before. That is a problem to me. If there were complaints before, this girl should have been let go from working at a place where kids are present. The director gave me her word that action will be taken with the rude individual. I will follow up on that. I am angry with the lack of supervision, the lack of emotion and care or concern. I am angry that my 3 year old daughter is still upset, 3 days later anytime I try to leave her side. I want action to be taken. I want to be contacted with what can be done in this situation.
