A few months ago I received a call from platinum advanatge, offering a credit card and to shop on their on line store site. The cost would be $200.00 and I would receive $200.00 in vouchers to shop with. They took the $200.00 out of my checking account using electronic checking. They said to me that the the package would be sent out in a month. What I receive was a letter to sign agreeing to the companies terms and agreement. I fax the letter to them.
Month went by and no package. I called platinum advantage asking why is the card taking this long and they told me that it was mailed out May 9 and would take 14 days to reach me. I continued to wait and no package then I called the company again and spoken to a woman who is Michelle Roberts. She looked into the problem as of why my package did not reach me so she scheduled another package to be shipped to me.
Again I waited for the package, nothing. Then in the mail I received a letter if I wish for a refund contact the company so I did. They said I would receive a refund based upon the decision of the committee if I should be entitled to a refund. I notified the BBB of this company and my request was the full $200.00 of my money of which they took. Ms Robert statement to the BBB is that she sent a letter.

[email protected]Thank you the correspondence of complaint #67117983 Kenneth Smolko. After investigating account we have found the customer was mailed out the guaranteed acceptance letter which stated all terms and conditions of the merchant finance account. He did sign and agree to the terms and conditions that states the $200 opening balance deposit is non refundable. His account was shipped immediately after receiving the guaranteed acceptance letter back. He did call in stating he never received his card which at that time another account package was mailed.
We don't understand why he had not received any of the packages yet we would like rectify the matter. We have offered the customer a refund of one hundred-sixty dollars. The thirty five dollars he had mentioned is a processing charge for our company twice mailing out his account to him and establishing his account. We have mailed out the refund acceptance letter on 7/11/08. We are waiting for that letter to be signed and returned accepting the offer.
Letter stated that I would receive $165.00 if I would sign the letter in closing the case and not filing any more complaints against the company. No I won't sign this letter.
They did not live up to their obligations in sending the package so why do I have to pay for the $35.00 processing fee and if I sign the letter, I probably won't see any of the $165.00 either. Something has to be done about this company and if their is a civil class action lawsuit against this company I would like to be in it.
