New York Child Support Unit Where's my money New York New York
I owed back child support. I went to go file my taxes in January for last year and they had a lean on my money. I owed them less then what they took from me so they owe me the difference. They told me that both of my checks were sent to me two weeks ago. Since i didn't get anything in the mail they told me that my address is wrong in the system they have 101 Decatur st and the address is 1001 Decatur st.So now they have to mail me two seperate letters for me to sign saying that i didn't recieve my checks and mail it back.
What i dont understand is when they are looking for me the letters get there. I have proof of letters from them with the correct address. Now they told me that i have to take a day off of work and go to the Child Support Unit to change my address then i will get my money. I want to know why i am getting the run around for my money when they do have my right address? I also want to know why they gave my daughters mother the amounts of the checks that i am suppose to recieve isn't that personal information?

How dare they hold on to money that is owed you from an overpayment of back child support. And two weeks no less. It isn't right. It isn't fair. They had the nerve to garnish your tax return. Man, what's the world coming to. And, to top it off, they have the nerve to tell the b***h you had more money coming in. Now you have to go down there to change your address, taking time off from work, to get your money back. Ain't life a b***h.
