On November 2006, I received an offer to use my "pretty soon" expiring miles with Continental to buy Magazine subscriptions. I was getting "free" (for a really small price) magazines for a year and the opportunity of renewing my subcription for a low price. I normally subscribes to Time or Newsweek (I'll take the best offer) and this company "NewSub Magazine" offered a good deal on Time ($25 for 56 issues). I also ordered "Entertainment Weekly" just to use my miles.

A year later, I received a Post card to renew my subscription and deadlines to do it. I called and cancelled "EW" and renewed Time. I was charged $39 for a new year of "EW" (after I cancelled). After several calls, I got half of the money back and after more calls, I received almost all my $39 back.

For Time Magazine, according to the Postcard, I was going to get 56 issues for $25 and to me and everybody that have seen the postcard is one year worth of magazines for $25, but not for NewSub Magazine Services. Six months later (April 2008 for a May renewal) I got a new psotcard announcing another $25 charge for 56 issues.

I called them and they expalined that my subscription was 56 issues for $50, with bi-yearly $25 payments. That was my agreement and the postcards were wrong and I was wrong. I called several times and "according the NewSub", Time confirmed this. I received half of the magazines I was promised and a really bad customer service. When I asked to talk to a superviser, they hanged, simulated they couldn't hear me and finally put somebody on the phone to tell me that I was wrong and they didn't have anything else to discuss with me.
