This is a public web site and this may come as a shock to you but the public may not always agree with you.

I am not going to get into the "what would you do".  As I respect people who make the tough choices, such as in your case to decide to not make your car payments.  That is NOT the issue, if you stopped there that would be one thing. The issue becomes YOUR whinning when the company didn't just "roll over" and let you get away with it.  You are under a mistaken impression that a company is somehow obligated to let you pay what ever you want..when ever you want when times get "tough".

Well I have news for you, everyone goes through tough times.  Now, if a company helps you out..great, but if they don't it is NOT a ripoff and no amount of whinning is going to change that..

People always seem to fail to plan ahead.  Did you really need to buy a 2014 Altima for 30K?, did you think..gee "what if"?  Of course not.  Wouldn't a perhaps 2013 or 2012 in a different brand for 15-20K in a different make be just as good?  That $600 car payment could have easily have only been $300-$400.  You can even get NEW cars or even smaller SUV's for under 20K.  So now when you get in over your head because you didn't plan it out you don't think back to your choices..you blame the company.

Have you taken a hard look at your true budget?   I mean scrapped it down to the penny?    Do you have Cable?  Internet?  Cell Phones?  How often do you eat out?  Do buy store brands or name brands?  You see every one of those things can help you reduce your budget.

But then while we are at it...you blame this company for not helping you out?  So why did they get to be the ones being "stiffed"?  How about your other creditors did any of them "help you out"?

In the end perhaps BK is the best option for you, but it is not the fault of a single "evil" company.  By the way if your other car is still on a loan you will still be required to make payments on it since it is a secured loan...or loose that car too.

So here's your story, exactly as per your original posting.  You buy this car and your husband's work slows down and you don't have the money to make payments.  As per your story here, neither of you get a part time job to increase cash flow its run to the lender to get them to make all kind of concessions.  Of course, this didn't need to happen because either of you could have increased family income with another job but I guess its the standard deadbeat excuses of "there's no jobs", "it will take away from my drinking time" and on and on.  We see you didn't cancel your internet service to increase cash flow either.  You guys walk out on two payments thus turning on the collections machine and they did a repo, surprise, surprise.  Of course, its all their fault.  Then the sue you for the CONTRACTED AMOUNT which is standard procedure.  What happens, in typical DEADBEAT fashion its go BK for a small amount of money.  Oh yes, its YOU who decides what they get and THEY are the crooks!  How typical!  Enjoy your SUBPRIME life!  With all the money you now have at your disposal, find a second or third grader to pay to teach you sentence structure, punctuation, grammar and composition.  How an adult can write something like you did with one continuous run on sentence is incredible.
