A few things I forgot to mention in my haste were.. 1. NJCURE does not have agents. Their entire processes is normally done by mail. (supposedly to save money) I USED to work in Princeton where they are located and thought I would speed up the paperwork process by dropping off some requested paperwork one day before heading home. (in the rental car they told me to pick up, that is now costing me $900 when it should have only cost me $300) Prior to having shown up in person, my claims adjuster, Sheila Donoher, was pleasent, polite, professional, and most importantly - helpful. I had no problems getting her on the phone or having her return my messages. However after meeting her(during which she did a double take), all that dramatically changed. My name and phone demeanor can be confusing, and I while I am not one to play the race card - here I have no choice but to.. I truly believe that after she discovered that I was not "white" she felt no reason to be of any assistance. She was rude, impatient, unprofessional, and extremely unhelpful after I met her. 2.)NJCURE has terrible wait times when you call them. You can easily be left on hold for 15 -30 minutes waiting for "the next available represenative." They have a department mailbox you can leave a message in if you dont want to hold - but despite their promise of a return call in 24 hours - it doesn't always happen. 3.)The company that financed my car recently told me that as far as they were concerned the car is totaled and that I could cancel coverage for the car dating back to it's recovery. I have recently submitted that request and am waiting for some type response. 4.)The company is insisting that their "engineering expert" has determined that the car could not have been stolen without use of a key. (The two keys that were given to me when I sold the car were still in my possesion at the discovery of the theft) But when I asked if they came to this conclusion by disecting the car, I was told no. The "engineer" does not remove any part of the car. Considering that it was a Honda (one of the top 3 brands of stolen cars in the country-obviously can't be that hard to steal or it wouldn't happen soo often)with a faulty alarm system -and the "engineer" didn't disect any part of the car I fail to see where they could have drawn this conclusion from. Plus after speaking with many people about this, I have been told that it is possible to hot wire a car in 30 seconds if you know what you are doing... The "insufficient ignition damage" is from what they are disclosing the only apparent "evidence" that they have supporting their "suspicion of fraud". 5.) Because of the extensive fire damage, it is unreasonable to expect the average person to have the repairs done on their own. It's not a matter of just refurbishing the interior, it's a matter or rewiring the entire car - AND replacing the parts that are gone.. from what the police told me, my air bags alone had atleast a $1,000 value. I didn't even look under the hood to determine what else was missing but I was told the battery was gone too. 6.) I'm not looking to argue with industry type people, or random people with too much time on their hands.. I'm looking for sound advice, recommendations.. and a place to vent and organize my thoughts.. Please dont be counter productive.
