NME/National Magazine Exchange and North Shore Agency rip-off! I keep getting gimmick mail stating that I can enter to win $1,000,000. CLEARWATER Florida
I too for so many years have been recieving bills from a collection agency notice from North Shore Agency, Inc. in Westbury, New York PO Box 8909 Westbury, NY 11590-8909, stating that I had been selected to enter a drawing to win $1,000,000 in the "strike it rich IV" sweepstakes.
What I had done about 5 years ago was responded to it and they told me that I would be entered in and that now they have a special offer where I had also been selected to recieve 2 free magazines for just $.99. Then received a bill for a much greater amount.
All that they needed now would be my credit card information to verify that I am who I say I am, go figga. Every since then I have been receiving letter from credit bureaus trying to collect from me. Today is May 11, 2004 and I have received yet another gimmick piece of mail stating that I can enter to win $1,000,000. This Sh*t has got to end.

Ok, firstly North Shore Agency has NOTHING to with National Magazine Exhange. NME has run it's different sweepstakes since 1984, they always award the million dollar prize. They send out mailers with unique ID numbers on them. If you choose to call in the ID # becomes your entry #.The company does offer a magazine package, HOWEVER you do not have to purchase (the reps will state that several times).... To stop recieving the invitaion letters all you have to do is call in, give the rep your ID # and BEFORE they even start with their speil simply ask them to remove your info from their mailing list and they will be happy to comply. Again, the ONLY mail we send out has NME stamped on the return address so any other company you are having issues with (i.e North Shore Agency, which IS a legit collection agency by the way, you'd have to deal with individual companies)I hope this helps!
