For the past year, I have been using the NoAware software for safeguarding myself against adware and spyware for almost a year. At first the software could only remove adware only and that was not done effectively. However, over the past year, the software has improved in removing both adware and spyware in that even if my computer has crashed, I have used the NoAdware backup CD without being charged again as some thieving anti-software companies like Spynuker do. This is because NoAdware has a "one-charge-for-life subscription" policy of its software. Since I use the Internet a lot, it is my policy to have at least two anti-spyware programs running. This enables me to eliminate as much spyware and adware as possible since "two heads are better than one." So after receiving persistent ads from SpyBouncer, I decided to give it a try.

The program scanned my computer quite fast and it seemed to indicate all of the infected files it could find on my computer had been removed. I thought, wow, this could be a great addendum to my NoAdware software. So I purchased it and I installed it and it removed all the spyware and adware it could find as it had claimed. So when I tried to run NoAdware, alas, I found out that the program had been automatically uninstalled without my permission. I found this strange, so I went onto the Internet, then did I discover in some hidden words that SpyBouncer and NoAdware were the same.

Please do not get me wrong. SpyBouncer is a great program that has removed the spyware and adware it has detected on my computer. In fact, SpyBouncer appears to be far more organized and apparently more effective than Noadware. However, the deception is to market a program like SpyBouncer to unsuspecting NoAdware customers, without telling them that SpyBouncer is owned by the same company or that if SpyBouncer were installed on one's computer, it would automatically uninstall NoAdware.

In fact, I would not have minded if I retained NoAdware, for who knows, NoAdware would detect some infected files that SpyBouncer would accidentally overlook and vice-versa.

The deception is to market SpyBouncer as a "once-in-a-life subscription", just as NoAdware had been advertized. So it would not be inconceivable for this company, which owns NoAdware and SpyBouncer, to market this "once-in-a-lifetime subscription offer" of $29.95 download plus a $9.95 bakup CD to unsuspecting customers as two distinct programs. For example, a NoAdware customer could be mailed a "once-in-a-life subscription" Spybouncer ad and if he/she subsscibes to that program, will only discover that his/her NoAdware program has been automatically uninstalled from his/her computer. The same could happen to an unsuspecting customer who already has SpyBouncer, if a NoAdware program is marketed to him/her as a distinct program, thus, enabling the company to collect anywhere between $60 and $70 on the two akin programs from the same customer. This is dishonest and fraudulent activity.

This is also compounded by the fact that this company has no customer service support, no phone number, and has no credible e-mail address. It also has neither a physical nor postal (P.O. Box) address where an aggrieved customer can contact the company. Thus, such circumstances raise a lot of red flags about this company.

So I am warning fellow customers that SpyBouncer and NoAdware are the same and the company or persons that own the two softwares ought to tell their customers so. This fraudulent activity ought to be stopped, for who knows, next year, this company may come up with another sleazy re-name of this software, to hoodwink its unsuspecting customers into believing that they are being sold a different software.

According to the site spywarewarrior.com, they are not the same program, and both are now legitimate, although they had problems in the past. Because of that, they are still marked for removal by some programs, and I would check their results with other free programs like ad-aware and spybot S&D, as well as on-line and downloadable scanners from yahoo (toolbar), trend, spysweeper (free demo) and Zone Alarm, to see if they do remove most of the spyware and adware. #3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, July 13, 2005

Hello Stephen from Flagstaff, Arizona I am one of the owners of the parent company of spybouncer. I would like to clear this up, i am not upset you have mistakenly classified us as the same product as NoAdware. We have been fighting with other companies who put us in their database as noadware soley on the fact that our product uses one of the same programming library for backing up deleted items as NoAdware. Due to the poor research on behalf of other companies, we have had to clearify this issue with others too. However, we are in no way affiliated with NoAdware. We have never spoken, seen or delt with anyone from that company. We started spybouncer and developed it from ground up. We developed our database from the ground up and have never shared, or partnered with any other company to move our product in other directions. I will be more than happy to answer anymore questions you may have about this particular issue, but I assure you, our product is very unique. I am sorry if this confusion has inconvienienced you in any way. I would actually like to know where you got your facts that lead you to believe we where the same company as NoAdware, we would like to follow up with that and clear up that issue. Thank you Allen Butler SRC Technologies President
