The Nordyne Warranty only lasted as long as my home warranty which was a year as was explained to me in my home purchase. I was given no information about any individual Nordyne Heating/Air Warrenty. This would have been nice to know before I forked out all the funds for a new system!

I replaced my 20 year old aging unit BEFORE it died with a new Nordyne heat pump. It has created nothing but headaches and I've had a total of THREE compressors in less than two years, two motors, more freon charges and leaks than I can count. I know that every season it WILL have a problem. While there might be the occasional compressor failure these units all have major problems and expensive costs. Sure the first time the compressor went back it was covered under warranty and my installer didn't charge me BUT since I have had to pay 150.00, 200.00, 75.00 and several other charges for them to come out and identify the problem - this is ridiculous my 20 year old unit was more reliable and dependable. Sorry Nordyne referring back to your warranty is not a comfort to me or any other consumer of your heat pumps because you might replace the compressor during the first year but what about every time after that? What about the motor - in 20 years I had to have my heat pump serviced TWICE - yours is four or more times a year. Obviously its a faulty product you should recall and and have to replace the faulty units you have sold to consumers in addition to paying some retribution for the headaches and money out of pocket we have to pay for service calls - I didn't buy a new heat pump to have no AC in the summer or to have to no heat pump and rely solely on an electric furnace and massive electric bills in the winter - you've got to do one better than this. The same complaints are all over the web, I only wish I had read those BEFORE I purchased this unit - it would have saved me time, frustration and a LOT of money.
So as you stand behind your products and "great warranty" what do you do when you have units that continue to burn through compressors and motors while losing freon?? When you fix that with your "warranty" and I have no more breakdowns then I'll be happy. This is unbelievable.

Compressor failures that early are unusual, but can happen. The compressor may be covered by warranty. To verify the warranty coverage, please call our warranty department at 1-800-422-4328 M-F, 8:00-4:30 CST. We will need to know your unit serial number.
Also, some furnace models are sized specifically for the application; an example would be furnaces designed for manufactured housing applications. Size restrictions may make it more difficult to find replacement filters since they are less common.
