Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Norm Cooper, pest control business broker is very slippery and only concerned with himself.  He advertises that the buyer will pay his commission, but what he fails to tell you is that he changes the purchase offer from the buyer to the seller and takes his fee out of the money that the buyer is paying to the seller. We hired Norm to sell our pest control business and he did nothing other than try to collect his commission. He sent information that we prepared to Orkin and Terminix and Arrow Exterminators. When we received an offer, he changed the offer to deduct his commission and then only showed us the offer less his commission.

So the buyer really isn't paying Norm, you are (the seller). Don't be stupid like me and fall for his lies. Before you hire him, call Terminix, Orkin, etc, and ask them about Norm Cooper. He says that they are his clients. I have a hard time believing that companies like this would hire such a scamming, con artist. He should be in jail.

Since he emailed it and sent it through the mail, our attorney said that it's federal wire fraud and federal mail fraud, so we are in the process of preparing our lawsuit against Norm Cooper of PCO Bookkeepers Norm Cooper Associates.

Post Caption: Norm Cooper, PCO Bookkeepers Norman Cooper Pest Control Business Broker Dishonest and deceitful takes fees from both sides.

Answer: Mr. Cooper has been in business for decades and has the highest respect from his peers, clients and trade associations. He would not be in business for this long unless he was honest and of the highest integrity. Some unknown poster who is afraid to even come forward and make a claim in person or through a lawyer may in fact not even be a real former client but instead some competitor illegally seeking to damage his reputation in a what is clear libel and not a matter of opinion

Post #1:  Norm Cooper, pest control business broker is very slippery and only concerned with himself.

Answer: Slippery is a word that is negative innuendo without any specifics other than saying Mr. Cooper is concerned with himself. What business person out there is not concerned with taking care of their self as part of a process where the seller is seeking expertise and expects to pay for such valuable services rendered.

Post #2:  He advertises that the buyer will pay his commission, but what he fails to tell you is that he changes the purchase offer from the buyer to the seller and takes his fee out of the money that the buyer is paying to the seller.

Answer: Mr. Cooper does not advertise as alleged and challenges the poster to provide any evidence to the contrary.

Post #3: We hired Norm to sell our pest control business and he did nothing other than try to collect his commission. He sent information that we prepared to Orkin and Terminix and Arrow Exterminators.

Answer: A business broker gets paid for making introductions between seller and buyer and assisting the process along, including the preparation of a letter of intent, a confidentiality agreement as well as providing marketing materials and/or financial information, all of which is of course prepared by the seller who has the day-to-day knowledge and access to such relevant information.

Post #4: When we received an offer, he changed the offer to deduct his commission and then only showed us the offer less his commission.

Answer: Mr. Cooper uses a written engagement/retainer letter with a seller and such letter always sets forth the specific terms of how he is compensated for the services rendered. Mr. Cooper unequivocally denies changing any offer as alleged and demands Poster provide any evidence to the contrary. The buyer makes an offer, not Mr. Cooper, who is but the intermediary interfacing and communicating between the parties.

Post #5: So the buyer really isn't paying Norm, you are (the seller). Don't be stupid like me and fall for his lies.

Answer: Seller’s conclusion is completely off-base to the extent a seller ALWAYS pays a commission to a party assisting in the selling of seller’s business – it is not a service for free!  On occasion, Mr. Cooper is able to have the buyer reimburse the Seller for the commission incurred and due Mr. Cooper but this is not standard operating procedure. Moreover, Mr. Cooper on occasion does receive compensation from the Seller and Buyer but this is transparent to both sides as Mr. Cooper’s engagement letter spells this possibility to seller and buyer that each may be paying a commission to him as a result of his efforts in bringing the two parties together. This is not illegal and not uncommon for business brokers in general both inside and outside the PCO industry.

Post #6: Before you hire him, call Terminix, Orkin, etc, and ask them about Norm Cooper. He says that they are his clients. I have a hard time believing that companies like this would hire such a scamming, con artist. He should be in jail.

Answer:  As stated earlier, Mr. Cooper’s career spans decades and the transactions he has successfully concluded over such span speak for themselves as to his reputation and willingness for large, medium and small PCO operators to continue to do business with him.

Post #7: Since he emailed it and sent it through the mail, our attorney said that it's federal wire fraud and federal mail fraud, so we are in the process of preparing our lawsuit against Norm Cooper of PCO Bookkeepers Norm Cooper Associates.

Answer: The purported legal advice is nonsensical to say the least and Mr. Cooper eagerly awaits your Complaint (if ever filed) to at least have the opportunity to address his accuser assuming you are real and not just an unscrupulous person seeking to libel him for competitive reasons. Mr. Cooper will at least know who to file a counter-claim against for defamation for the fraudulent and false post made on this website by an anonymous party who lacks the conviction to say who they are….ergo the post is bogus as far as Mr. Cooper is concerned.
