The few times I dealt with a customs agent I had to appear at their office in response to their mailed notification to me and conduct business face to face, or I dealt through the US Post Office who collected for US Customs. I think common carriers such as FedEx and UPS can also collect for US Customs. [Once in Canada when I received an SLR from Hong Kong, I showed my US driver's license and the Canadian customs agent then simply handed me the camera....There were "Canadian Customs" signs and ID all over the place at that Canadian Customs office, and the agents had badges, and so forth.] Now, you are supposed to WIRE Mr. Ted something? Have you contacted US Customs at their main number to verify what you would and should be doing, where, and with whom?
