This trucking company Known as North Caribbean Transport or Sunline Logistics operates out of Las Vegas NV. and North Brunswick NJ. They are known for not paying the drivers they use and running illegal trucks and trailers. I know this from first hand experience. I have been a professional driver for 25 years and have never seen such a corrupt company.

Most of the drivers can not speak English which is a requirement by law, to operate a commercial vehicle in the United States. Most of the trucks and trailers they own and or operate have mechanical defects that would not pass a State or Federal inspection. In one instance they had a kid working for them. They gave him a stack of Annual Federal Vehicle Inspection Stickers. He filled in the blanks and stuck them on many of the companies trucks and trailers. Not one of these vehicles has a legal inspection. This is very dangerous to the public. I drove a truck with less than legal tread depth left on the tires. The company was notified that it needed new tires to be safe and legal. They refused to put them on. With this said, I refused to drive the truck so they threatened to fire me. The company is operating vehicles with bad tires, air leaks, worn steering components, cracked windshields, worn brakes, and the list goes on and on. Some of the trailers even have broken cross members on the floor. They had one trailer in Texas where the floor actually fell through. North Caribbean operates many illegal and unsafe vehicles on the roads of America. They have a probationary rating of 99 plus with the Federal Department of Transportation. This can be verified at http://www.safersys.org/ just use the name Sunline Logistics or DOT number 1561478 or MC number 579149.

My partner and I were kicked out of a truck by North Caribbean while we were about 2000 miles from home. We delivered a load in Las Vegas and were notified by dispatch to clear our belongings from the truck and take a bus home. They were upset with us because we were complaining that we needed new tires on the truck to be legal. Also, several days earlier I hurt my back while moving over 14000 pounds of freight by hand from one truck to another in a truck stop parking lot. The company was notified several times verbally and in writing, that I had hurt my back. All of my attempts to alert them of this were ignored. So, now we were stranded 2000 miles from home, with my back needing medical attention.

After we cleared the truck out of our belongings, as the company had demanded, they began to threaten us with the Police and the FBI.

We still have not been paid for our last 3 weeks of work that we have completed. Also we were promised in writing a $350.00 dollar payment for being on call for an emergency shipment that came into the Philly airport over one weekend. We were never paid for that either.

This is a very dishonest and illegal company that should not be allowed to operate in The United States.

Everything that Is written here can be verified.

Despite what the employee states, NCT drivers have been issued violation tickets on several occasions at their North Brunswick location.
For almost a year, the residents of the area where this company has landed have been at "war" with them over their overnight runs though the neighborhood, allowing refrigeration units to run noisily 24/7 and truckers who don't know how to operate their trucks blowing their airhorns at residents to move their cars out of the way. (we LIVE here, why not try driving like a professional?)
According to  township officials, they will be vacating their current NJ location in May, 2011.
While "agreements" had been reached regarding the reefer units, because NCT apparently has a continuous change of drivers, newer drivers(especially those who come at night because the warehouse workers are gone) are not made aware that these units are to be parked in the back of the property.  Also, stop signs were erected because of residents'
complaints of almost being run down by these drivers, but not one driver has heeded the signs. Not one.
Should anyone who is a resident of an area near an industrial zone see this, please brush up on your rights in your town.  Many times, there aren't many, but when a company like this-one who has a blatant disregard for its neighbors, its employees and even its landlord-you need to be aware of what you can and should be able to do.

You have the right to "refuse to drive a comm. vehicle with unsafe conditions"STAA,1982,sect. 405, employee protection. Though you must file within 180 days, unless there are extenuating circumstances. File on them and get them in the system, dont take no crap from any crooked outfit, otherwise they'll just keep doing it.

First off, while they were issues with payroll being processed in a timely manner in the past, all of that has been corrected. As long as drivers turn in their trip logs by the due date they will receive their payment on a weekly basis.

North Caribbean is an equal opportunity employer and frowns upon your lack of concern for other ethnicities. Each employee of North Caribbean can speak enough English to communicate with dispatch, or any other necessary authority. Just because some of the accents are heavy does not mean these employees do not speak and understand English.

As for the Annual Federal Vehicle Inspections, our yard has had a mechanic for several years. At the moment we are employing three mechanics. They do inspections each time a truck reaches the yard and all repairs requested by the driver/ fix mechanical errors found with-in their inspection.

If your tire had such minimal tread depth, why did you not notify dispatch about it at one of the home terminals i.e. NJ or NV where they would have been swapped at moment's notice? It is company policy that drivers inspect their truck and trailer before leaving a terminal for things such as tire tread and fluids in order to get it repaired at the yard. These kind of repairs on the road need approval because they are more often than not avoidable with your pre-trip inspection.

As for being kicked out 2000 miles from home, when a driver is terminated, law requires these drivers be terminated in one of our terminals i.e. Las Vegas or NJ. I believe I know what circumstance this was exactly and you were not terminated because complaining about your tires. You did not mention anything about injuring your back. You had been threatening to quit to the office for weeks. Then you started ignoring your phone during trips. Out of concern for our customers' orders, we terminated you upon arrival to your delivery in Las Vegas (which we had to find out from the receiver).

We did not threaten you with the police or the FBI; we actually had to call local authorities because you hijacked the truck and trailer. The property was not recover for several days after your termination.

That is also the reason for not receiving your last two weeks of pay. Those were used to cover expenses in retrieving the truck, loss of revenue caused by these actions, and repairs needed to fix mechanical issues with the truck.
