Well, this is only part of the story.  Unfortunately for this customer the District Service Rep of Suzuki happened to be in the store and inspected this vehicle.  His findings were that the customer had installed an aftermarket air filter which allowed sand and dirt into the engine and that is what voided his warranty.  To properly repair this engine it required the cylinder to be repaired or honed, new piston, rings etc. and to rebuild the head.  We tried all we could to warranty these parts through Suzuki but it was declined.  During this effort we were required to send pictures to Suzuki and it was discovered that the aftermarket wheels and tires that had been installed at our dealership would void any warranty claim that may be presented against the drivetrain.  The customer asked why we sold the warranty with these parts installed and our response was that it was unclear with Suzuki that they would in fact void the warranty. The customer then attempted to get a refund on the extended warranty in question and after some effort on their part they were successful.  We offered a severely discounted solution to rebuild the machine as best possible for the least  amount of money but they declined this.  I believe we did misplace a small part or two which I replaced at no charge to the customer. This customer claims to be a qualified technician but in my experience every other customer that has ever walked through our doors is a tech of some sort and knows better than everyone else.  We did all we could, sorry for the sour grapes to the customer.
