Complaint Review: Northern Leasing Systems - New York New York

Wanted to give an update on my situation with Northern Leasing. They have DROPPED the so-called "lease" I supposedly agreed to and signed. I have paid them for 2 years, over $1300, which I had no problem with for 2 years....assuming I was paying off this machine. Come to find out 2 years later I could've bought it outright for $150! BUT, did the sneaky worm Merchant Services NE offer that option? HECK NO. Why? Because look at all the money they just made. Anyways, I have it in black and white, from the IL Attorney General that Northern Leasing has DROPPED this "lease". Now I am going after them for the money I've wasted. We'll see if I get it. I will keep all posted if anything else comes of this. Nobody would do a lease, ending up costing how much money when had they been offered to just buy it outright......well, we all know how that would've gone. We're not stupid, and unfortunately companies like this Northern Leasing and Merchant Services take advantage of the newbies to business. They act like they personally care and then stick it to ya when you're fully trusting. Anyways, I wrote to Consumeraffairs.com, IL Attorney General (had ALL paperwork to back up my complaint as well as NUMEROUS pages I printed from this website....only the main pages......just to show how many others have had the same issues with NL), Federal Trades Commission, National Fraud Info. Center, RipoffReport.com. People, go after them. It is not fair they get away with making us good honest people suffer. Go at them with all your might. I'm thankful to Northern Leasing for dropping this scam of a lease......but why wouldn't they, they already made over $1000 off of me! And with all of us going at them for the same thing, they honestly do not stand a chance. I wish everyone well and good luck with everything.

There more info update you need to Know Justice has been prevailed, according to the Supreme Court of The State of New York's judge Sherry Klein Heitler decision on April 7, 2005, The Court has upheld the fraud claim, and the claim for punitive damages, ruling that the "allegations address more than a private wrong contending that defendants engaged in a course of conduct throughout the United States with such wanton dishonesty as to imply a criminal indifference to civil obligations,." Case: Pludeman v. Northern Leasing, Index No. 101059/04.

Well, another update. This time I got a letter from Northern Leasing dated 12-27-05 stating "Important Notice". Basically confirming that this lease is "non-cancelable" which I always thought was ILLEGAL! Also, they threaten legal action. Honestly, bring it on. They will be buried with forgery, condemning, harassment, lying, stealing and cheating! jimmy 98178 - I did a search and found nothing. If anyone else out there would like to discuss This company NEEDS TO BE STOPPED! How many more new business owners are they going to rob? I just faxed them a letter letting them know I am MORE than ready to take this into court. These people actually told the BBB of NY that I had my choice of equipment. Ok, here was the choice...."how 'bout a Tranz 460?" Now, do any of you out there know what this machine is? If you were a new business owner, would you? They clearly lied, and I have it in black and white from the BBB of NY!!!! Being in the home party business, this machine would NEVER have been chosen. This machine is big and bulky and never would I want to carry this around house to house. Plus, they never informed me back in 2003 this machine was REFURBISHED! I just found this out from the man who sold this machine to the man who "leased" it to me! He told me he sold it for $100 to Merchant Services NE, who turned around and leased it to me for over $2400!!!!!! Then that same man asked me, "did they tell you it was refurbished too?" Now, as I've told Northern Leasing, if they keep harrassing me, they will be paying ME back! Thanks!

Please explain in more depth if something is being done against this Northern Leasing. I don't believe the weasels out there should get away with this either. Merchant Services NE reeled me into this and signed me onto the lease with Northern Leasing. I think all the sleazy branches of Northern Leasing should also pay! I think we all should get every penny back from Northern Leasing that we ever spent. Jimmy, you said it best...."they charge well over 10 times the fair market value of their leases". I have a VERY old AND refurbished machine that I don't believe they even make anymore. And I got it in only 2 years ago! lol I am in this with everyone else. We need to stop these people. Jimmy, if you're out there, please let me know if something has taken place in a court of law against these people or something of the sort. Thanks for keeping tabs on this with me. A class action against Northern Leasing asserting a fraudulent scheme to entrap small businessmen fraudulently into equipment leases with undisclosed charges and onerous terms. Plaintiffs assert that Northern Leasing deceptively sells these leases to small businessmen through what appears to be a standard-form one-page lease, complete with signatures, and a personal guaranty. Thereafter, it routinely charges and collects much more than what is specified in the first page, and foists several other liabilities on the unsuspecting small businessmen. When small businessmen raise questions, Northern Leasing finally reveals the existence of 3 additional pages which make the lease irrevocable, onerous, and virtually indefinite. Routinely, these pages and their contents are never disclosed to the small businessmen at the inception, and are not incorporated into the lease. Nevertheless, Northern Leasing saddles small businessmen with all these terms and enforces them strictly. We, the hard working, honest citizens of the united states are being plagued and terrorized be the Northern Leasing ,that freely violates federal laws and statutes, and targets those that are trying to make a better life for themselves and their families, cash poor, and have less than perfect credit, The Northern Leasing , a division of Leasecomm Corporation and Microfinancial Incorporated, violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they claim their contracts cannot be canceled, this is an unfair and deceptive act and practice, which is illegal under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Consumer Protection Act, they add false charges to their bills, chage for collection contacts, even when they do not follow through with the contacts they charge for, without refunding the money for those collection contacts, they charge well over 10 times the fair market value of their leases, and they do not state the fair market value of those leases on the contracts, this is a direct violation of the Truth In Lending Actwhich forbids thier jacked up charges and and requires the fair market value to be written on all leases. We, the victims of the Northern leasing ,need to go together and citizens of the United States DEMAND and administrative order to refund ALL funds, to remove the negative marks from our credit ratings, stop ALL COLLECTION ACTIVITY AND LEASING, and to cancel all contracts. I informed them that I have already gone thru all of this before, but explained again why they would not rec'v any more money from me. She said the phone calls will con...... and hung up. I plan on closing this phone line, and take all other steps necessary to never have to hear from these rip off artists again! Like I told them, if I wanted to be a real witch, I'll come after them for all the money I've already spent on a machine I was NOT given a choice of, nor told it was refurbished. Course now they're grasping at straws when they say that. Cuz they wouldn't have a clue to what I was given or told. It was one of their many weasels that hooked me into this scam! Merchant Services NE! Let's all stand together on this people and get these losers! Count me in if anyone wants to make this a HUGE battle!

Well, I heard back from the BBB of NY and they stated Northern Leasing said "Consumer selected the equipment of her choice". Again, another lie! Never once had I rec'd an option of which CC machine I wanted. Being in the home party business, I would NOT have chosen this old, REFURBISHED, bulky machine. It's a bit difficult to take to parties! Had I been given a choice, I would've chose something smaller AND new! I was not given a choice nor was I informed this machine was refurbished. This Northern Leasing is now lying to the BBB of NY to make it ok that they attempt to steal more money from me. They are CROOKS with a capital C! They honor leases that have been completed by forgery and unawareness of the consumer and then lie to make it all ok. Sad thing is, since my first reporting on ripoffreport.com, there are a few new files reported against Northern Leasing. Why on earth isn't someone doing something about this?! I did not sign this lease. I did not have a choice of equipment. I was not told about the machine being refurbished. Never once did I tell them I wanted to fight back for my already paid $1300+. My fight is I will not pay any more for this machine since I've already paid in full for it 13 times. If I wanted to be a real stinker, I'd go after them for all my money back since I was NOT given a choice, NOR was I informed about it being refurbished. I found that out now, 2 years and 2 months later. But that's all ok, because I now have it in writing from the BBB that Northern Leasing LIED! I was never given a choice. A choice is being able to see different machines and making your decision. Not once was I shown any other. Just told about the one I'd be sent. Anyone else out there that has been screwed over by Northern Leasing, feel free to contact me. Let's all go get 'em together. I am prepared to fight 'til the end of this. Let's close this faulty company down before they hurt anyone else.
