Northern Leasing Systems ripoff, deceiving company New York, New York
I also became victimized by this company. I received a credit card machine for my small business from them. When I got it, it didn't even work.
I called them to return it, and they told me that they couldn't. They were only the loan people. I also told them to cancel it, but they would not.
My account started bouncing and come to find out they were receiving money automatically out of my account. I closed it and opened another.
Well it's been 2 years, Feb. 7, 2006 and I just recieved a letter in the mail telling me to call and resolve this matter, or the will have someone to summon a complaint against me.
I had my wife to call, and she asked them, since it was a lease, to get the machine back, that it's never been used from us. He said that he could'nt because they were only the loan comp.
They are Charging us $4,580.00 when the machine never worked.
I asked him how was that when i'm not suppose to be buying it when the whole machine cost that? he couldn't tell me.
He kept telling me it was a 4 year lease when I don't recall it being that.
The man told me to pay or he was putting a judgement against me for 20 years, told me someone was on the other line and hung up on me.

We live in NC as well and were ripped off by Northern Leasing. They did place a judgement on us but in the state of NY only, so it does not affect us as far as purchases of property or anything else in any other state. They did this while we had our attorney working on the matter and they never would call him back. I did contact experian and they took the judgement off our credit report. All you have to do is go to www.experian.com/disputes and tell them what happened after they do this to you. Good luck
