This company sells software on the internet. Odds are, if you are looking for the higher end business CAD software, their website will pop-up on your Google Search (they must fund their Google account with "restock" fees).

In a recent instance, we had inquired about a product. They promised to "meet any price". I found the product locally, but thought I'd give it a shot. They knocked 5% off the "purchase price" of the product, sent me a written quote, and we consumated the sale via an online form with my credit card.

AFTER the sale is done, we get an e-mail several hours later saying, oh yeah, we need the existing product serial number. In looking over the quote they sent, that wasn't one of the conditions.  No problem, so I furnish a S/N, which they say they cannot verify.

Since they put on post-sale conditions, I inform them that if they cannot resolve these additional, after-the-sale conditions, just to not order the software and refund my money (they do not physically stock it, but order from mfr and "drop ship" it).

A week goes by and I hear nothing. I contact the vendor and ask them if they shipped my software (the promise is to ship immediately, and have delivery in 3-7 business days). They say no. I say fine, but per previous instructions, they cannot fulfill order, so order is null.

Several hours later, I get an e-mail with a 5% "restock" fee.

I contact them and they say "I should've known" that when I ordered the software, a "condition of the sale" was furnishing the S/N of my current version. I point out no such mention was on their written quote. I am told "too bad, we're charging the 5%".

I have been in business for over 25 years. The written quote, and my acceptance of it by ordering the product constitutes a contract. Noedge putting additional "after the sale' (after they've got your money) conditions is improper, illegal, misleading, and violates Federal Law on these type of transactions (not to mention several business laws and State Laws).

I would steer a WIDE berth around such companies that make a mistake, don't own up to it, then try and get a 5% restock fee.

The review I'm replying to nearly scared me off from buying from this place but after continued research on the company, I ended up buying a program through their website that was advertised $150 cheaper than the MSRP from the maker's website.

I experienced nothing but punctuality and professionalism from this company. They delivered my purchase within 24 hours of the purchase being made and saved me a bundle of money on professional modeling software. The license and downloadable product came directly from the manufacturer. No issues or problems whatsoever.

Whoever it was that posted this must not be including all the details or had a really unfortunate experience but Novedge definitely delivered for me and lots of other customers the internet over. I will certainly give them business again in the future.

I am the Marketing and Social Media Consultant at Novedge.com.

During a web search, I happened upon this negative review on your site.

At Novedge we value our customers' feedback and do our best to provide solutions to problems that might arise during transactions
(see: http://bit.ly/Rdpioc ).

However, we feel the review above is unwarranted. It comes from a customer who purchased from us the upgrade to an Autodesk product.

It turned out that his copy was not eligible for an upgrade. In our return policy we have a 5% cancellation fee for these cases that was clearly communicated to the customer in advance of his purchase. Upgrades always require a serial number, as that is proof that the copy of the software being upgraded is legitimate. He expected us to take responsibility and fix the problem, but the issue here was with his previous purchase from another seller of software, which lacked a verifiable serial number. There was nothing for us to do on our end, except refund him 95% of the cost of the upgrade.
