My problem is that I purchased new wheels for my firebird. Had them mounted on new tires and they vibrated tremendiously. Rebalanced them twice more. Changed them with another set of wheels and the vibrations went away. OE Wheel won't give a refund.

Read these emails for more info:

Dear OE Wheels

Now I have a new problem you need to help me with. I had the new wheels mounted and balanced last week. I put them on the car and there was a lot of shaking when I drove it. I went back to where I had them Balanced and made them do it again. When I left there it was shaking worse then when I went in. So I went right back and they balanced them again. When I left that time it was better but still was shaking a lot. Way too much for brand new rims and tires. So a few days later I had them put my old rims back on the car and all the shaking has went away.

Apparently my car, a 1994 firebird, has hub centered wheels and the wheels I bought from you are too loose on the hubs and will not run true on the car.

I understand your return policy and that you will think this is not your problem as I had mounted tires on the wheels and used them on my car. I feel like I was cheated out of my money and sold cheep junk that only looks good on the surface. I Wish to return these wheels and have my money refunded.

What should do? Mike.

First Michael,

Let me say, we do not sell JUNK!

We have literally sold thousands of these wheels for better than 5 years and you are and would be THE FIRST to have any problem with the wheels. What are the chances?

So.... My first recommendation is based on your vehicle not being stock. Someone has changed something somewhere along the line.

If the problem is the center bore then you can contact someone like http://www.prestigewheel.com/ or Summit racing.com

They carry hub rings. That would be all you need based on your explanation.

Since the wheels have been mounted and driven on and passed through so many hands, they are not returnable. If you decide you do not want to keep the wheels then your best bet is to sell them outright yourself. Our prices being so low, you more than likely can sell them for everything you have into them plus, as long as they have no damage. Selling your local auto trader or the newspaper is an option that many forget about. Of course there is always ebay. Thank you

Thank you for your interest,

Dear OEM,

Thanks for the answer to my problem. It is exactly

what I thought you would say.

Like I said in my last e-mail, when I put my other set

of zr-1 wheels, gm, not replica wheels. the shaking

went away, It doesn't shake with the stock wheels

either, therefore the problem is with your wheels not

properly fitting my vehicle. Which your auction said

they would fit.

Well, it cost me over two hundred dollars to find out

your wheels are junk.

I thought of selling them on ebay myself. But, I

wouldn't feel comfortable selling something I know to

be faulty. That would be bad business practice, Not to

mention dishonest, and fraudulent. And when the person

who buys them from me has problems then I would be

responsible.

Right now you are responsible for cheating me out of

my money and giving me a useless set of wheels.

I wanted to give you the opportunity to refund my

money including shipping and the return shipping to

you, before I take any further steps to recover my

loss.

If you don't wish to take care of this in a timely

manner. I will be forced to leave negative feedback.

Notify ebay of the problem. Also the Attorney Generals

Office, The Better Business Bureau, The Bad Business

Bureau, My3cents, File a Ripoffreport, etc.

Please let me know what you would like me to do about

this problem, Thanks, Mike.

Well Michael,

Seeing as how you jumped the gun and acted in retaliation like a child, you are right, there is nothing we can do for you, now. Understand

this, we have literally sold 1000's of these wheels. What kind of luck or chance would you have to have received the only 4 bad wheels we have ever sold! Sorry, but you should have thought a little more before

reacting. NEVER, I mean never, before have we had ANYONE have 4 bad anything, of any kind! Our first clue! Now, Aside from that, you have a tire issue in there to deal with. 99.9% of the time, in the past, a

problem has been with a bad tire. Not that it can not be a problem with one wheel, but, it has to be narrowed down by someone who knows what they are doing. And for ANY tire mechanic to support your theory that

it is ALL 4 bad wheels, tells me without any doubt, he doesn't know what he is doing.

If you had not retaliated so quickly we would have advised you to take the issue to someone reputable, and ask them to narrow down the problem and we would help you at that point. ALL 4 BEING THE PROBLEM IS NOT ONLY ABSURD BUT FOOLISH TO EVEN EXPRESS. A little patience, thought and intelligence in this matter would have

gone a long way. Now, go ahead and put yourself through the paces of blaming us for your childish behavior. You have already shown how you handle things irrationally and fortunately, there are intelligent

people in all the areas that you will want to cry to. Bear in mind, we are a titanium seller on ebay, have been in this business for over 20 years,

and did not get there by ripping off customers or selling poor quality product, and that record stands with all of the people you will complain to with your irrational logic, that it is, of course, a problem with

all 4 of our wheels being junk. You not only show your lack of intelligence by your remarks, but you literally insulted everyone who has ever bought from us. Go figure, the world is all wrong, but you are right!

Good luck,

Thank you for your interest,

O. E. Wheel Distributors, LLC

Dear Sharon,

I don't know that all 4 wheels are causing the

vibrations. But I spent over two hundred dollars and

several hours on three different days getting the

wheels balanced and checked out. I am not going to

spend any more time or money trying to figure out

which one or ones are the exact problem.

When I replaced the wheels with another set of the

same type wheels,ZR-1,but from another

manufacturer,Same thousand dollars worth of new bfg

tires,The vibration problem went away.

Also I have since found other people that had similar

problems with your wheels.

If you wish, after you refund my money and get your

wheels back you can spend all the time and money you

want trying to figure out what the problem is with

your wheels.

As for me I will continue to use all avenues available

to me to get a refund of my money.

Thank You, Mike.

If you paid $200 and still don't know what the problem is, you got ripped off. Do what you like but again it is posted clearly on every auction page, wheels / tires that are mounted can not be returned. Again, if you had done the intelligent thing and made the tire dealer

who ripped you off big time for $1000 worth of tires and balancing, etc. find out exactly what the problem was, you would not have this problem

now.

Thank you for your interest and have a safe and happy holiday season

Dear Sharon,

There was no way to determine that the wheels were

defective without mounting and balancing them and

trying to use them on my car.

The manager of Discount Tire determined that there was

a problem with the fit of the wheels. Changing the

wheels solved the vibration problem. Therefore he was

correct.

The auction clearly states that the wheels are for a

1994 firebird. Made to O.E.M. Specification. But they

would not work properly on one. That is consumer

fraud.

Had I known they were defective before taking them out

of the box I would not have mounted tires on them.

Your disclaimer is pure BS.

You need to refund my money,$569.60, ASAP.

Thank You, Mike

Michael

I also purchased a set of chrome rims from O.E. Distributors almost a year ago.  Had them put on my car and had the same vibration, so I took my car in for a 4 wheel alignment and still had the vibration.  So I then went back to where I had them put on, thinking maybe they needed to be rebalanced. Wheels were in balance, so they tested so see if they were in round. I had 2 wheels that were out of round. I called O.E. Dist. and they said I'd have to pay to purchase 2 more wheels. Then they would verify what I was saying and if so they'd refund my money for the 2 new ones. Though the guy told me that there was no way that I had 2 that were out of round.  Now, almost a year the finish has a orange-rusty look to them.  Very dissatisfied with my purchase. A good company would stand behind their product, without costing you more money to fix the problem.  So I'm gonna fix the problem and just get me some more rims, but not from O.E. Dist.
