i own an oakwood home, and it is ridiculous on how that company got by with the crap they pulled. my husband and I bought our home in 2000. We were under the assumption that our loan went on our criteria, but infact it didn't. They locked us into someone else's bad credit of 16.25%. The actual loan was for 83,000, but we could not get a new home....go figure. Then we were looking over our papers when Vanderbilt Mortgage took over in 4/12/04, oakwood had added insurance of 651.00 to our loan when we already had it in 2000, before the home was delivered. here recently we ran into some financial difficulties and vanderbilt said they could repo our home if our payment wasn't made by the 15th every month, same crap oakwood did except our payment book says 1-16, oakwood tried saying that if we didn't have our payment in by no later than the 3 then they could take action. personally i think both companies are pathetic.
