I was looking online for information on the date of my grandfathers death. Unable to locate that information i clicked onto a site called obituary.us.org who claimed they could get me a copy of that info for $1. That sounded reasonable so i filled in the information. I was then offered the ability for additional reports for .45. I declined that offer.. At no time did i see any info about any additional charges. No info on any kind of membership plan. I paid the $1 using my debit card. A reply back from Brian indicated i would receive my report immediately, when i didnt, he then said he would have his associate forward it to me within an hour. Never happened. the next day i checked my bank account and saw the $1 charge and another charge for an additional $18.95. I was furious and contacted the online line site again. This time I got Andy Wright who stated i signed up for a membership. I assured him I had not, but he wanted to make sure I was satisfied and would close my account and refund my $18.95. He said my death report was sent and to check my spam. Again, i waited for the $18.95 to be reversed.....of course it was not, nor was my death report in my spam. Contacted this company again. This agent informed me that I had only closed the account, but had not cancelled the transaction. Again, i demanded a full refund and told them they were operating under deceptive business practives. No where in their ad is a membership mentioned. Their services may not be illegal but they are very deceptive deceptive. I finally got an email confirmation of a refund and to check my bank in w-3 days. I sent a scathing email to Andy Wright admonishing his business practices and an apparent scam to make people think they are only paying $1 for when it is actually 12 payments of $18.95. Buyer beware. If i dont receive my $18.95 back tomorrow, i will file further complaints.
