I had a $ 49.99 coupon for cleaning dryer vent and air ducts for a 700 sq ft condo.

Ethan did blow out the dryer vent and air vents.

Ethan opened furnace said he saw rust & mold in the furnace unit which would cost $325. I agreed to the service. Many of items checked on the list were not done.

Ethan next told me I needed a $650 Germicidal UV Cleanser that it would end dust, pollens, mold and viruses.

I said I was very sick. I am considered most severely disabled by the state of CA.

I had been out of work since Oct 2008. I explained the type of viruses I had lived in my blood the UV light could not help.

I was reading the literature he gave me. It stated air had to flow through the system.

I explained I do not run my AC or heat due to the cost of electricity. I could not afford more bills. His exact statement was just let it sit there then.

Instead of taking the unit out.

Also it is the filter that cleans the dust & pollen not the UV light.

I spent the next week trying to reason with the general manager Joe who stated he would help me. He stated diagnosing my multiple medical illness without a MD degree and told me how the UV would help. I asked for his email so I could send my medical history. Joe said his email was [email protected]. I emailed my entire medical history and some photos of what dealing with this company had caused. It was humiliating to send my entire personal medical history to proof I was not a liar.

Joe stated he could have someone come get the $650 unit.

Ocean Air Care would keep the $450 unit give me $150 refund. I went over and over that I didn't use the furnace. Also I had been told my electric bill would only increase by $2 month. I called So CA Edison was told if I started running the unit my electric bill would be significantly more.

I requested that the unit be removed and added to their IRS business loss.

I was connected to one of the owners vacationing in Europe that refused to help me, make any exceptions or compromises. I agreed to pay $325 of non service but to please take I was reading the literature he gave me. It stated air had to flow through the system.

I said this was a senior citizen complex of 88 units I could give a positive or negative report. I was sure other people would get the dryer vent cleaned but I didn't want them riped off. There is no compassion, humanistic characteristic quality at this company. I asked it they would do this to their elderly sick mother. I was told it was a business. I could take them to court. My story is not unlike the others posted about their experience with Ocean Air Care which doesn't care

Ocean Air Care did finally make good on the two checks sent to me as a refund.

Total amount of $650 for the Germicidal UV Cleanser. I would not use this company again

Since I last posted my comments on Ocean Air Car Inc in June I see yet more complaints. This company has over 30 complaints filed against them at the board of consumer affairs in CA. They have liens against them. The company finally agreed to take back their $650 Germicidal UV Cleanser Unit and refunded me with two bad checks. The company didn't even have $225 in their account. The IRS wants them too. Every week these coupons re being mailed out all over the state of CA and more and more people being ripped off by them. I really wish Rip Off would look into this company and help the innocent people

Without a compromise, roughly $3 billion worth of IOUs will be issued in July to everyone from contractors to welfare recipients. Per news also includes disability recipients Ocean Air Care Joe says he is going to refund me $ 250 that you say and giving me UV light cleanser that I can't use. Just sitting there is costing extra $ for electric bill. IT ISN'T GOING TO MAKE JULY MORTGAGE. My mortgage is not $250 it is $559.97 I have explained over and over that I asked for the $49.99 coupon special. I was told needed a $325 service of the furnace. Then I needed a $650 UV light cleanser even though I have repeatedly said I do not turn on my AC or heather I can't afford it I am very sick and have no job. NOW I AM GOING TO GET AN IOU from CA I have told general manager Joe I have had suicidal ideation since last October and have had been seriousmedical problems for over 20 years. Ocean Air Care Thinks' SUICIDE IDEATION IS A JOKE The Company has been unreasonable. I have told them I am on the edge. My 7 medical specialists are aware of my condition, the state of California, the federal government and my insurance company. They would still have made $366.03 on the $49.99 coupon.They didn't even put my filter back in let alone put in a filter that was to catch the dust and pollen which should have been done. They did not do the things they checked off on the box. Ethan told me the light would kill dust and pollen and doesn't need air to flow for the UV light to kill mold ect. Again not true Too many other companies disagree with OCEAN AIR CARE. They say the opposite of what Ethan, the owner on vacation in Europe and general manager told me. On rip off.com 2 other complaints re the $49.99 coupon adding up to $2,000 and $4,000. Ocean Air Care's general manager and the owner lied over and over that they couldn't resale the UV light germicide cleanser once it was installed and had to be trashed. Ocean Air Care told me it is against the law to sell demos. The demos have to be marked as such on the box and the buyer told. This is not true. I went to web site regarding discount UV light germicide cleansers. This was the result: you can buy them at discount when there is; overstock, retail demos, ones damaged in shipping with a scratch ect. Also new UV light cleanser sells for less money
