Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

OSI is not a real company or a real corporation. It is a family business by a few guys down in Florida.

I was in a search of a good shipping company to ship my furniture from a storage in CA to France. OSI with all the good reviews and a competitive price ( which turned out to be all fake) was the one I chose to do this shipment for me. They quoted me a price of $2,700 to ship a studio worth of furniture and they said they would do this in 5-6 weeks. After I gave them access to the storage and they went and picked up my furniture and after 5 weeks they called me and said that it would actually cost me $5,100 to do this shipment and it would probably get to me in 2-3 months.

They said if I wanted my furniture back, I had to pay them $2,500 for the cost of picking up my furniture and when I said this does not sound right, they said "well you should have asked about the process before you gave us access to your storage".

Basically, it is now 4 months since they have all my furniture , they do not send me any contract for me to know what the charges are and why I have to pay over $5,000 , they have kept all my furniture as hostage , I have no idea where my furniture is.

If you are a lawyer and need to get in touch with me please feel free and I give you the more detail explanation with all the evidences that I have.

A Federal Marin Commissioner is also looking at this for me, but she told me that they have very very bad reputation and a lot of complaints against them and FMC is trying to suspend their license for their lack of honesty and ethics

After some miscommunication we finally resolved the issue.  It turned out that I actually did have more volume than I was originally quoted for, but the length of time it took to get what is a called a Dock Receipt from the warehouse worried me and I may have jumped the gun and made some allegations before verifying all the facts.  I was very upset about the fact the price had gone up so much, but after reviewing my quote and seeing the dock receipt, I now understand the difference in volume actually costs a lot more for the ocean freight, fuel, packing, loading, etc..

After doing some research, I found out the company is incorporated.  You can check this out at:   www.sunbiz.org     and they are in good standing with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).

You can call and check with them at:

After settling on a fair price, I received all my stuff in perfect condition and there was no loss or damage to anything.  From what I saw on the finished job, I can tell that their operation is very professional and again I was very impressed with how the goods were packaged and received.  I was a bit harsh initially because of the dispute we had in volume and the time it took to resolve it, but it all worked out fine in the end.
