I have used Oil Can Henry's in Bend for years without a problem. GREAT people!

The one in Redmond opened up and I was very pleased. As I live closer to Redmond than to Bend.

Arrived as usual. Was greeted promptly. However I should have saw the red flag when the mechanic didn't know how to get my hood open. He kept fiddling with it and looking under for a release. Finally I asked him, "Would you like for me to get that?" He replied "No Im just looking at something" Good a** cover there.

At this place they have cams where you can veiw what they are doing underneath and under the hood. As a rule, the first thing they do when they pop the hood is check the oil. I noticed this person did not do it. But I watched the mechanic underneath drain the oil. Then the mechanic under the hood pulls the dip stick, carrys it over and says "You arrived here with no oil in your engine. Its quite obvious you have a major oil leak. We recommend... "Then he went on and on about what they could do to fix it, saying it would be this much money and that much money. I let him go on, then I said "Is that all you have to say?" He replied "Yes" and I then said "Well you just wasted your breath because I saw him drain the oil before you pulled that stick out" He replied "I'm telling you what the stick read. Look" I said "Of COURSE its going to look like that after the oil has been drained. I know basic mechanics!" He promptly turned and left. Then he came back with the air filter, which I knew had to be changed. I gave him the go ahead on that knowing that the price for that was an additional $6. When it came time to pay, they charged me double on the air cleaner. I felt like arguing the point, but I was so mad after the way they tryed to scam me for engine work, that I just let it go.

I will say one thing though. There was a little Mexican guy there that was helping. He was very nice. He even came over to the guy who tried to scam me and said in broken english "Theres no leaks. No leaks" The guy gave him an evil look. Then as they closed the hood, the guy peaked under and then under the truck and said "See. No leaks. I tell you no leaks" He ws AGAIN gven an evil look by everyone. He was the only honest one in the bunch!

As I was driving off. They said "See ya later" I snorted and said "Not HERE you won't".

I feel that if I had not been a woman they might not have tried that. The only reason I don't change the oil myself on our rigs is that its easier just to have someone else do it. I grew up in a family or mechanics and am no dummy in that department.

I only hope they don't try this scam with others now that someone has cought on to their little game. Sad thing is, I think they will anyway.

If Sussie would like to contact me, I would like to invite her to observe our DVR tape on her vehicle while it was being serviced that day. We have cameras above and below the vehicles also outside the entrance, recording 24-7. Many times these recordings will dispute any wrong doing by my shops.
