Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I bought the paint a year and a half ago, it never dried. It is dry to the touch but If anything leans against the painted surface it sticks and pulls paint away.  I bought three different colors for two rooms and I have this problem with both rooms.

In addition, the colors did NOT match the swatches and when I complained to Lowe's they told me it was MY FAULT because I didn't buy a tester pint first.  REALLY?  My fault the paint did not match the swatch?

I HATE the color of the Olympic paint, the Lowe's personnel talked me into buying a second gallon because they said I needed two coats for the true color to show.  Nope.  Still not the color.  then I had to buy another gallon as the original trim paint I purchased would not work with the actual color of the paint.  This was from their pre-printed choices and they wouldn't match.  So, I bought four gallons for one small room.

I bought low cost paint from WalMart, I think it was House & Garden, and it dried completely within two hours and the colors matched the swatches exactly.  I have had the WalMart paint for two years and I can lean anything against the painted surface and it doesn't stick or pull away.

I'll never buy paint from Lowe's again.  I'll buy all my paint from WalMart and pay half what Lowe's charges. Anybody want two unused gallons of Olympia paint?

Correction - Lowe's

I apologize for the error.  I could not figure out how to go back and correct the Title.  I tried again, and the program won't give me access.  Perhaps it is my out-of-date computer or my lack of computer skills.

The store is LOWE's.  The surfaces painted were varied: sheetrock - prepainted surface that had been cleaned, bare wood that had been primed (Kilz), and new sheet rock that had been primed.  The (Walmart-Home & Garden paint) is wonderful and I can hang pictures on the wall.  The bedroom and family room (Olympic Paint) won't allow me to hang anything or place items against the surface without sticking and pulling paint from the wall.  A new closet door had been primed & painted and the door sticks to the jamb and paint has pulled from every area that touches.  So, it was clearly the paint brand and not the paint application.  The Kilz was purchased from Lowe's and I had excellent coverage and performance from the Kilz, which was used on the hall under the GOOD paint and bare doors and patches on the other surfaces.  The Kilz performed as advertised.  The Olympic brand did not.  The new trim was purchased from Lowe's but was Valspar, and I don't have trouble with it.

The only problem was the Olympic and Lowes' handling of my complaint.  With Lowe's, everything is dandy until you complain and then you get the same treatment as the comment I am now rebutting.  Hostility and attacks on my intelligence.  I'm assuming the manager at Lowe's made this comment I am rebutting as the tone is the same.

Your rebuttal was extremely hostile and clearly a personal issue for you.  It is unfortunate that you were upset, but I stand by my complaint.  The Olympic paint was horrible!  I am very dissatisfied with the paint and the treatment from LOWE's that I received.  I am also disappointed with your rebuttal and personal attack on my intelligence.  Despite your rebuttal, any moron can paint a surface and the paint is marketed for all levels of ability.  The paint and Lowe's lack of customer service and professionalism is at issue, not my level of intelligence.

I hope you can find peace in your future endeavors.

You can't even get the store right...

Your title states "Home Depot", and in your report you only talk about "Lowes".  Well, unless you know something that no one else does..they are NOT the same store.

You can't even seem to get the time right, or your timing makes no sense.  You talk about having the Lowes/Home Depot(whatever) paint a year and a half ago, yet you have had the Walmart paint for 2 years?    Or is this a case of trying to make up a story about how the Walmart paint even though it was 1/2 the price of the Lowes/Home Depot paint and it matched perfectly you decided to pay double the cost and not only that but when the first can didn't work..you bought more instead of going back to the Walmart brand..sure.....(rolling eyes).

So one has to wonder what else you got wrong.

You obviously didn't paint them on the same surface as you say the Walmart paint is fine and the L/HD paint is still causing you issues.  Which also makes one wonder if this paint is so horrible why didn't you buy another gallon(probably around $10-$15 if it is 1/2 the price as you said).

So what was the finish of both paints?

Did you look at the paint and the swatch in the same lighting?

Did you actually stir the paint before you used it?

Now, onto what else may be your issue.

One of the main reasons that paint does not "stick" is because the user(YOU) did not prepare the surface correctly.  Dirt, Grease, or even trying to paint over a "Semi-Gloss" or "Glossy" finish without preping the surface correctly could cause the same affects.
