I responded to an ad on Craigslist for an open position with "E Platform Marketing" (I didn't know the company name until I responded) for a secretary/administrative assistant. This is what I got back once I sent my resume for the job position...

Hi ****,

My name is Sandra- I'm the staffing manager at E-Platform Marketing. I've reviewed your application, and your qualifications may be a good fit for our administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in executive-classic format (company requirement for new hire résumés). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward.

If you are unfamiliar with an executive-classic format, I'd recommend finding a template, or a quick resume builder online (I know OneBuckResume.com or ResumeEdge should support the format).

Please email me if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,

Sandra Cottrell

E-Platform Marketing™ LLC

I went to OneBuckResume, since I couldn't find the exact format anywhere else, and I wanted the job. I paid the $1, got a really crappy template for it, made it look really nice and professional, and sent it back. I never heard another peep from these people.

Now One Buck Resume has placed an unauthorized charge of 7.80 on my account, I never signed up for any recurring charges, never agreed to any subscriptions, never bought anything else from them. They are scammers, pure and simple. Don't EVER use this service. It's a ripoff and a scam. You can't even get ahold of them, it's crap. I have disputed the charge with my bank, and will be looking for other ways to report this company. You should do the same. Let's shut these jerks down.

Sorry, but there was nothing like that on any part of the checkout process. That's crap. I am very careful when checking out and know for sure that when I did this, there was nothing on there to be checked or unchecked about any trials. Maybe they put it on there since then as I'm sure they've gotten plenty of complaints! But at that time there wasn't anything like that.

I used One Buck Resume not too long ago when I needed an executive formatted resume too. When you are paying the $1.00, all you have to do is unclick the checkbox that says: "I would like to try OneBuckResume's resume distribution services (free for 7 days)" and you won't be charged the stupid $5.88 fee for the distributor. You need to pay attention to what is said on the billing page for a lot of sites these days. When I tried the site, I didn't expect much with it being 1 dollar and what not- but I actually wasn't disappointed with the finished resume. It looked pretty good.

I am the owner and President of E-Platform Marketing, LLC located in Atlanta, GA.  I realize that although our name is a registered trademark there may be another company operating somewhere with the same name.   If this post is directed at my company the allegation in totally false.

We have NEVER posted employment ads on Craigslist!  Additionally the supposed reply is not what one would see when sending an inquiry to our company, and the name listed is no one that we know or have ever employed.  Our company is in no way affiliated with OneBuckResume.

Our company has an A+ rating with the BBB and is a legitimate internet marketing company.

Wow...OK "Vivian". Everything you said was a straight up lie. Guess what? I know you know what I'm going to say.

I tried all your phone numbers and they all lead to a recorded message and an "automated subscription cancellation" line. I shouldn't have to use that, as I never agreed to any subscriptions, but I tried it anyway and it doesn't even work!! It's all just a load of crap. You guys are just scamming people and then trying to make yourself look like this caring company when you're just a bunch of crooks.

I bet your name isn't really Vivian either. You guys don't even answer your phones, it's all just recorded messages and automated systems that don't even work. I even used your online ticketing system and never got a response.

THIS COMPANY IS BOGUS! Do not use their services, never give them your credit card information. They will steal your money.

They never answer your calls, emails or tickets and they never mention any subscription on their website, just charge you for one anyway. There is absolutely nothing on their site or in their checkout that says that paying $1.00 for a resume is only a "7 day trial subscription". This is illegal, and I hope whoever is running this company goes to jail for this. You are practicing fraud.
