On 1/18/2010 I purchased a 2004 Ford F150 from Online Car One. According to their website, which I printed and kept, the vehicle had power windows, power doors, power mirrors, rear sliding glass, and cruise control.

When it arrived, it had none of these.

According to the sales contract, the truck would have a spare tire, complete jack kit, and tires with roughly 75% tread remaining.

It did not have a spare tire or complete jack kit, and the tires had roughly 25% tread remaining.

After many calls and an email, Anthony Azizi told me that he would take care of the spare tire and jack.  However he has not done so, and does not respond to calls or emails.

 As to Jim's comments:

Buying cars online, sight unseen, is routine.  A vehicle is sold through Ebay every 52 seconds.

Online Car One misrepresented their vehicle and did not honor their contract.  However, there are plenty of honest dealers out there, and I have had several good experiences buying cars online.

Yes, there is risk involved with buying a car online, but there is risk involved buying a car locally, or for that matter, doing anything.

And I don't think I'm "whining and crying"; simply sharing my experience with Online Car One, and possibly helping to limit the risk for other buyers.  Someone thinking about buying from this dealer may want to know that 1) my vehicle did not match the decription in the ad, 2) Online Car One did not honor their contract, and 3) Online Car One does not intend to do anything about it.

btw, if they DO decide to make things right, I will post an update here.

As to the comments from Online Car One:

"This customer had the 2004 Ford F-150 pre-inspected before he ever purhased the truck."

True.

"He recieved a detailed report of...what options it had and did not have."

False.  The report was to look for vehicle condition, engine problems, signs of accidents etc.

"Online CarOne replaced the wheels he had with stock ones with about 50 percent thread left."

False.  Two tires had less than 25%, one tire had wear bars showing (fails state inspection), and one tire had 75% but had chunks of tread missing (unsafe).  I have the actual tire condition documented.  The contract from Online Car One states that the tires have roughly 70% remaining tread.  I would have been satisfied with 50%, but what I have is a $750 tire bill.

"Regarding the spare and jack, the customer called us a few weeks ago and informed us that he actually found the tire and jack on the truck and apologized for the mistake."

False. Two possibilities here: the owner of Online Car One is either confused, or lying.  Online Car One stated in the contract that the truck would be delivered with a spare.  It did not have a spare (and btw, you don't just "find the tire", like it was hidden behind the owner's manual in the glove compartment - it's either there or it's not).  I never told him it had a spare.

The one time I was able to reach Anthony Azizi by phone, he said he would order the spare, and would get back to me right away.  He never got back to me, and has not responded to follow-up emails and phone messages.

"The only reason the ad stated the truck had the options it did is because the website will pull up all of the options automatically by the V.I.N number.  However, it is the customer's responsibility to confirm these options before purchase."

Please notice that the owner has admitted that his ad misrepresented the vehicle, and he is not concerned that his advertising is false.

"All of this was stated to this customer when he got the truck pre-inspected by his own mechanic."

False.

Defy Common Sense, Why Don't You?

Why would you, for even one second, consider buying a used car, sight unseen on the internet????

Then you whine and cry when what you received is not what you thought you were going to receive!

This is INCREDIBLE.  Blame yourself.  Why not learn even the basics of common sense when it comes to buying a car!

This customer had the 2004 Ford F-150 pre-inspected before he ever purhased the truck.  He recieved a detailed report of the condition of the vehicle and what options it had and did not have.  The truck had a set of 22 inch wheels with almost brand new tires.  The customer informed Online CarOne that he did not want the after market wheels on his truck and asked us to replace those wheels with some from another truck we had in stock.  Online CarOne agreed and replaced the wheels he had with stock ones with about 50 percent thread left.  Regarding the spare and jack, the customer called us a few weeks ago and informed us that he actually found the tire and jack on the truck and apologized for the mistake.  The only reason the ad stated the truck had the options it did is because the website will pull up all of the options automatically by the V.I.N number.  However, it is the customer's responsibility to confirm these options before purchase.  All of this was stated to this customer when he got the truck pre-inspected by his own mechanic.
