I ordered furniture on Jan 17, 2004 in the amount of $1006.59 and as of November 12, 2004, I still have not received the furniture or the refund that was promised to me in May. They did not respond to my emails after the bogus refund was promised until after I contacted the Better Business Bureau on September 4, 2004. Since then, they first wrote to ask if I had received my furniture. Then on October 12, 2004, they sent a form letter for me to sign and fax back letting them know that I wished to receive a refund. Why this was unclear, I am not sure! I haven't heard back from them since!
The 4 month lapse between the refund that was promised and the date I contacted the BBB was spent attempting to process a chargeback against my credit card company. It was discovered after much wasted time that I cannot process a chargeback against my credit card because I wrote a check against my credit card account to take advantage of the 1% discount that was offered for paying with a check, therefore it is considered a cash advance and chargeback rules do not apply.
