I bought a LCD monitor from Global Computer (globalcomputer.com) since they SAID there was a great rebate on the item ($120.00). Global Computers uses On Rebate (onrebate.com) for their rebate processing. However, it's now over three months and I still haven't received the rebate. Not only have I not received it, I cannot get an answer to my email as to WHY I have not received it. All I can find out is that the rebate was approved in June, and issued in July. Hey, it's now September! Why don't you send my rebate?

Yes, they say if you have any questions to call - Good Luck in getting anyone on the phone!

or email - yea, email all you want - but thay will not answer it!!

I cannot get an answer from these guys -

I caution anyone about dealing with Global Compter (aka Tiger Direct) and OnRebate.com

I finally received the two rebate checks. Funny, but there's not even a single word or message of any kind. Only the check in an envelope. It's sad, because I might have continued to support a business if they actually ever tried to resolve a problem. These guys don't seem to care, I did receive three total emails, two telling me that someone would look into the status and let me know - clearly auto-response messages. The third was from Global Computer (globalcomputer.com) who said I needed to contact onrebate.com not them. So here I am, yes I got my rebate. But here I've had to just about pull hen's teeth to get it. Why is that? Anyone want to bet when I buy anyhting else from Tiger Direct, Global Computer, or ANYONE else that uses On rebate (onrebate.com) to process rebates.... um, that would be NEVER! I hope the FTC shuts down this caper before more people have to go through this. It's such a shame....

Since I'm still hanging in the air about my $120.00 in rebates. I filled a complaint with not only the BBB but also the FTC. I have received a reply from both globalcomputer.com and onrebate.com - both said they would "look into" the situation and get back to me... yea, right. I did receive this from the FTC. Maybe everyone else should file a complaint with them, it sounds like there could be a violation of law here. Excerpts from the FTC responce: September 26, 2006 < name and address removed > Re: FTC Ref. No. < clip > Dear < clip >: Thank you for your correspondence to the Federal Trade Commission regarding rebates offered by companies... ...if a company decides to offer a rebate or coupon plan, it must fully disclose the material terms and conditions of the offer and must provide the promised rebate. If a company systematically fails to do so, it may be engaging in deceptive or unfair practices in violation of Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act. The Federal Trade Commission acts in the public interest to stop business practices that violate the laws it enforces. Letters from consumers and businesses are very important to the work of the Commission... ...The decision to open up an investigative action depends on how widespread the practice is, how many consumers are hurt, how much harm is done, and how much evidence we have.
