My name is Eric and I am a current employee of Orkin. I am certified in structural pest control and termite control. I would just like to make a few comments to this report.
First and foremost, while Billy the Exterminator can be entertaining to watch, his show is just that. Entertainment. Do not base your expectations for pest control on his show. Billy has gotten in trouble with the state Dept. of Agriculture on more than one occasion, and is an embarrassment to the Louisiana Pest Management Assoc. as far as pest professionals go.
Second, you mention water bugs (American Roaches) in one part of your complaint, then it changes to bed bugs. A bed bug problem is an entirely different treatment from american roaches and is not covered in general pest control. It is a very time consuming and involved treatment that costs considerably more money than standard pest control.
A roach infestation does not happen overnight, and it will not go away overnight. While I can't speak for other Orkin branches, it is not standard practice to put out rodenticide in a residential environment at our branch. We treat for mice and rodents through exclusion work and traps. It's called IPM (Integrated Pest Management)
As for the poor customer service and the technician not showing up to scheduled appointments, I think that is an issue that should be taken up with your local branch manager. While Orkin is very strict in the hiring process and takes great strides to hire honest and caring people, sometimes a bad one can slip through the cracks. I personally take great pride in what I do everyday and have a route full of happy customers that will gladly testify to the quality of Orkin's work and the people behind the red diamond.
