Contractors Beware!

As nice as it is to bid on a full custom home or remodeling project for Otero Homes. The true details will come to light when it all goes down on the job site. Most of the staff is great to work with especially when they show you all the work ahead and say "we would like to establish a nice relationship with our contractors". That may be true until the project manager Corey shows up and  he cuts down your price, knowledge, experience, and the over rides any ideas or intentions you would like to present. Get ready for a total shut down of everything you have ever learned. This guy thinks he reinvented the skill trades manual on a construction site.

Seems more like he watched some episodes from this old house and thinks he has 30 yrs experience over other contractors suddenly.  They will nit pick your entire install and finish work from start to finish and ask questions like it's the first go around. Enough to drive everyone mad!  I take criticism with stride but not from a supervisor who wears the captain obvious cape, fresh from the ametuers row. Making the wrong decisions that effect the construction process like crucial measurements, finish choices, and overriding customers wants and options makes for a miserable builder to work for. The homes material qualities and overall design are great. The process of dealing with impossible deadlines and work scopes from someone who barely picks up a pencil will make you mad.

Contractors need to work together and instead seam to ruin the other trades finish work or make a unconscious mess while others are trying for perfection and completion. Tools and equipement, materials will go missing from sites and or find other trades using and abusing without permission is always nice. This shows poor job site supervision and priorities, respect, for the trades that will work for quality and detail.  SO contractors beware of what happens on the Otero job sites and don't be fooled by all the show boating awards and local hype. There are plenty other builders to work smoothly with and will give you the bread and butter work needed.
