My son was injured. Before I could pay off the the thousands fof $$$ in bills, these bloodsuckers came after me. I did make many payments. I called them to pay off the account, adn specifically asked to pay off ALL THE MONEY DUE. They collectd $352.84 and said thanks, you're paid off. After 2 years, I went to get a loan, the bank said I had $1028.00 outstanding. Seems O,R,&D overlooked that one, and just reported it to my credit record. What is more, the bills from 1 visit had been broken into 4 collections for whatever reason. So I get 4 dings on my credit report. They refused to make reduce the number of reports. To make matters worse, a year later, they had never reported the accounts as being paid off. They refused to fax information to my bank that the loan had been paid off. Finally, my bank did something that got them moving, and they faxed a letter and reported my bill as being paid. That's my only bad credit. Even with a 685 credit score, I sill had to pay $500 deposit on my electric and $300 on my cable, so this just cost me another $800. ALbany Med should be listed right there with them, for using such creeps for their collections. Only in NY.

OK, Wow, 2009 that was a long time ago. They still show $88 in collection. I call at least once a year, " That's a mistake, check you credit in 60 days and it will be fixed"....still BS. Well, it's from March 2008. 11 months it will be 7 years of misrepresenting my credit report, and it will go away. Can't we get a group of folks together and file a group lawsuit? These people are as bad as it gets. Still terrible. NY laws are built by lawyers, and for lawyers. Someone should hit them where it hurts, in the wallet!

Since Brian decided to put that fancy "esq" after his name I'm assuming he is an attorney with this firm.

As such, he should know better than to toss out the term "slander" without explaining the ways in which the report was false. AND it seemed, from the report, that the OP probably tried calling those numbers numerous times to resolve these issues. AND it's kind of odd that Brian didn't even explain either that this didn't actually happen or that it DID happen but was an honest mistake or not a ripoff in the first place.

And what Brian failed to mention (although I wouldn't expect him to) is that the reporting of a paid account as delinquent is itself slander.

So I'll try to do it for him. When you visit the ER, it's not odd at all to get billed from as many as four different sources, i.e. the hospital itself, the attending physician, the lab, and medical imaging. Nowadays this is pretty much how it goes. The doc, the lab, and the x-ray are all in the same building, but are often operated by separate companies, each of which will bill independently.

It's kind of odd, however, that each independent company would use the same collection agency, and that the collection agency would collect on all the accounts in one lump sum.

And, as I stated above, falsely representing the status of a debt is slander (actually it's probably libel). It's also a violation of the FDCPA, the FCRA, and probably state laws as well.
