Lincoln,#2REBUTTAL Individual responds
Tue, October 23, 2012
The accusations in this report are inaccurate and untrue. We are going to address the facts here.
James Ngu is from Malaysia and has lived in Lincoln, Nebraska since 1984 and graduated from the University of Nebraska. Pacific Auto, Inc. opened its doors in 1997. We provide a unique shopping experience for our customers including clean title vehicles, previously salvaged title vehicles, service department and full service body shop.
We are proud of the quality of work we do. We encourage a potential customer to visit our website (www.pacificautolincoln.com) and go through our inventory. You will notice that we advertise our "clean title" and "previously salvaged titled" vehicles on the same site but disclose all of our vehicles with a "previously salvaged title" in the vehicle detail section. Visit Cars.com or Autotrader.com and you will find the same disclosure on those websites. We are not in any way misleading when it comes to representing our inventory in an honest and straight forward manner.
We have never had a complaint filed against Pacific Auto, Inc. or Murphy Motors, Inc. with the State of Nebraska dealer board.
We do have a small inventory of parts vehicles (none of which are stolen) behind our building. This is not unusual for a company of our size. We must state that there is a salvage auto business behind our facility that has over 3 acres of used vehicle parts for sale and may appear to be part of our property. It is a separate business from ours.
This complaint states that our business is being run by "convicted felons". James Ngu was convicted of receiving stolen property in 2001. He purchased a vehicle from a customer wishing to sell, had the vehicle inspected by the sheriffs office to insure the title was free of liens, and then sold this vehicle only to find out later that the vehicle had stolen parts on it. He plead guilty on the advice of his attorney and payed a $1500 fine. He did not receive a sentence for probation or any jail time for this offense. James Ngu has never had his drivers license suspended or revoked. In 2011, the State of Nebraska granted James Ngu a full pardon for his prior felony.
Ben Murphy (Murphy Motors, Inc.) and James Ngu have been business partners for 4 years. Murphy Motors, Inc. is not a "defunct" company. Ben Murphy has never been convicted of a felony.
We are both active members of the Capitol Beach neighborhood and enjoy living within 5 minutes of the dealership.
We encourage our customers to test drive and have your mechanic inspect any vehicle on our lot. We have over 1000 satisfied customers who have purchased vehicles at our dealership. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable shopping experience for a quality used vehicle.
