I am going to call my attorney general tomorrow. I called palisades and they could not find me in their "Database" they claim they did not do the report to Equifax they told me to ask them to validate it and that it would get erased.

I believe that what they did constitutes an automatic payment to you for about $1000 or more. It is highly illegal to place false information on your credit report. Check with the AG in your state.
