I,m new to this site, I too got a letter from Palisades Collection, Last April, claiming that I owed $1200 to AT&T Wireless under the name 'Britney Spears'. I called Palisades and was able to resolve this matter so I'm commenting on this to add weight to your cause. First of all, I never in my life had an account with AT&T wireless or otherwise. Second of all I don't know a 'Britney Spears' as stated above, and Ive lived at my address for more than 12 years. To show you how messed up they are I called AT&T and they couldn't find any record of it. So I called Palisades and found out they had my SSN#, but the name was wrong, for my name is Dave Thomas not Britney Spears. So they told me they would drop the matter and send me a fraud kit which they never did. Isn't it suspicious from reading alot of these posts that the amounts owed is mostly around $1200? In real life these amounts would vary. I agree with you Lee, S.N., and Dave. You should go all out and pull out the heavy artillery. File with: State Prosecuting Attorney, county prosecutor, FTC, BBB, and even a class action suit!!!..........Dave, IN

To use Megan's format: First of all- S.N. and Dave- Both of you are right on point! Second of all- I second S.N. and Dave's comments. Third of all- If AT&T Wireless, AKA Palisades, (and whichever other names they think they are hiding under) reappears on my credit bureau files, I will promptly file a lawsuit. I will do so with my feet planted firmly in front of a judge, with complete facts, which are in my favor. Fourth of all- Megan, I am sure you are a nice person that, for the moment, thinks she needs to defend this slimy organization. The 1,000's of people having the same problem with your company cannot all be wrong. When a problem with the same m.o. surfaces over and over and over again it starts revealing that it is, indeed, a duck. Do yourself a favor and find a job with a company you can be proud of...

Look at the 1000's of complaints about Palisades on the internet, and this site. They all say the same thing. They are a JUNK DEBT BUYER and whether or not the person owes money is irrelevant, they just go after the person anyway. I don't know how you sleep at night defending these bottom feeders.

You should find another company to work for. If Palisades keeps up their cheating lying trying to make a quick buck ways...they may just find themselves out of business. BTW, if you DON'T have the actual accounts that you purchase, you have NO business putting anything on anyone's credit report. Smells of fraud and then some.

first of all, i worked for palisades for over a year. the REASON that it takes so long to show up on your CBR is because we just purchased the at&t accnts within the past 4 years from at&t. As soon as WE purchase it, we report to the cbr's. CBR's can take up to 3 months to update their files accordingly. second of all, the information given to contact you was given to us from AT&T. THIRD of all, the ONLY reason its off your CBR is because its a dispute. FOURTH of all it takes AT&T at LEAST 90 days to supply us with statements from them. FIFTH of all, as soon as they DO receive the statments from at&t they have the right to put it back ON your cbr if they feel the debt is validated. and last of all, all of the information we got, including your social and name came STRAIGHT FROM AT&T. we purchased the accnts from them. if there is a mistake, you can blame them. why do you think their out of business and WE GOT THEIR ACCOUNTS IN THE FIRST PLACE???????

HOORAY! Palisades has cleared my reports of their error. My SCORE went up by 63 points; Still not where it was prior to the BOGUS AT&T Wireless collection. In addition to reporting them to the CA ATTY GEN'L office, I wrote Palisades a letter, telling them what I did. I also sent them a Registered Letter (Cost is $2.54) giving them 45 days to PROVE this account was mine. ALSO, instead of sending my copy of my report on RIP-OFF, I figured it was better if they saw EVERYBODY'S RIP-OFF report--So I instructed them to GOOGLE themselves. So, if you stick to a plan and execute it, Palisades Collections seems to respond. They did in my case and I really appreciate it. It does not erase the fact that their entry in my credit files caused me harm because I was declined for credit in at least two instances. Let's hope it does not resurface under another branch of Palisades Collections--Under a different name...

Today, I filed a complaint with the California State Attorney General's office. I directed them to this site, and explained my situation to them. They will launch an investigation, and if they see enough complaints on the same company, hopefully, they should be able to help us. Those of you out there with Palisades Collections problems (that won't go away) can do the same within their states. Just GOOGLE with these words (Name of your state) Attorney General Office. From there you will be directed to the listings, click on the proper listing and click on "Complaints." Do it now!
