Ms. Pamela Hutul is a family law attorney practicing in Chicago.  Potential clients of Ms. Hutul should beware.   I am disturbed by the unethical behavior she has exhibited in her practice of law.  Ms. Hutul will attempt to create as much acrimony in a divorce as possible to lengthen the litigation proceedings and increase her fees.  Upon intaking a client, she will assess the client's resources to determine how much money she can earn from the case.  She will then make sure her collected  fees are a portion of the total marital estate.  She wants her share.

The ways she increases acrimony varies on the case, but often it involves making personal insults to the client's ex-spouse.  Engaging in unnecessary and ineffective legal tactics and so on. She will avoid settling a case, even if it is in her client's best interest, if settling means her fees are reduced.

Ms.Hutul has a poor reputation in the Chicago legal community for not being a substantive attorney.  She will rarely create legal arguments based on the facts or the law, but relies on emotional arguments.  Ms. Hutul regularly insults and is abusive to the opposing litigants and attorneys.

Ms. Pamela Hutul is a rapid feminist and treats male associates in degrading ways.  I've seen her send male attorneys to find cold medicine, coffee and to run minor errands.  This demoralizes the associates who then do not put forth their best effort on behalf of the client.

She was formerly with the firm of Beerman Swerdlove.  She left that firm when the other partners objected to her attempts to engage in nepotism.  That's the rumor in the legal community.

When deciding on an attorney, potential clients should be aware that legal review sites such as avvo.com are regularly monitored by attorneys.  The reviews there are adjusted and edited by the attorneys in question and are therefore not necessarily accurate.  So gather information about an attorney from multiple sources before making a decision.

Your report was written in such a way where it does not look like you were a client, and a few sections make it appear as if you may be an (ex)employee or competetor.

So how are you getting all of this information?

Pamela Hutul: Ethical, Honest and Compassionate

I was troubled when I read this review about Pamela Hutul.  I was referred to Ms. Hutul by three of her past clients, 2 men and 1 woman, who raved about her integrity, honesty and expertise in family law.  I experienced all of these qualities and more over the 15 months she represented me.  Far from wanting to litigate my divorce, she continually advocated for negotiation and settlement with my ex's lawyer.  Ms. Hutul, from my research before hiring her to represent me, has an excellent reputation in the Chicago legal community and is respected and well regarded by the Judges on the family law bench as well.  Additionally, I learned through experience, that many family lawyers are vicious toward other attorneys and their clients - Ms. Hutul was always gracious and honest in her dealings with the lawyers and their client on the other side of the table during my ordeal.  She handled herself professionally and ethically at all times and was expert at deflecting the numerous personal attacks launched by my ex and her lawyer.

One of the more interesting comments of the post I am rebutting is her treatment of men - Ms. Hutul is adored by the male associates and her partners at both her former and current firm - I should know, having spent countless hours in her office.  Never once did I see her engage in the type of behavior described - to the contrary, she would typically be the person fetching drinks or ordering in lunch.  The associates engaged on my case, always went the extra mile - not only for me, their client, but also because of their affection and admiration for Ms. Hutul - one young man took me aside and confidentiality told me how lucky I was to have Ms. Hutul representing me and how he enjoyed working and learning from her decades of experience in family law.

The practice of family law is somewhat of a nepotistic community, a quick review of the firms specializing in this area of law will confirm this fact. In summary, Ms. Hutul is ethical, professional, knowledgable, and compassionate to her clients and co-workers, both male and female.  I strongly believe whomever wrote this comment had some type of axe to grind and the protryal of Ms. Hutul is totally inaccurate.  I will and have reccommended her to a number of close friends who have found themselves in the same position as I and had to hire a divorce lawyer.
