Bought a Panasonic Model PT-50LC13 January 14, 2004. This is a expensive television. It is has a 1 year warantee. The lamp burned out and at time of our purchase we were told it would last 50,000 hours my the authorized dealer of Panasonic. Purchased at Herda's, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Panasonic does not have the lamp and can not give us no date of when we can expect it. It has now been 3 weeks since the TV failed. Most of the other manufactures have a policy of so many days and the television is replaced if they can not fix it. Example Sony is seven days and most of the others it is a maximum of ten days. We now get conflicting stories from store where unit was purchased. They state Panasonic says August 5. Which is another week and their authorized service center says it was sent day before yesterday. Kind of like "The check is in the mail".

This is our first experience with Panasonic and it cost me approximately $3000.00. It is unreasonable to have a $3000.00 monument in my home. It offers no artistic value at all

How to Get Service On Your Unit

#2Consumer Comment

Tue, August 24, 2004

It is bad that Panasonic still has not fixed this problem with the bulbs for this Unit. Panasonic has known about this now for 13 months and still has not come to terms with this. I would suggest contacting legal assistance and also your consumer affiars. If your TV is within the one year warranty Panasonic has 30 days to get you the part to fix your TV. If you are over this you can and should ask for a new TV. If you are out of warranty by a few months you should contact the Panasonic Customer Care Department do not talk to the rep that answers the phone and do not ask for the Supervisor you want to talk to the Manager of the Customer Care department. If this does not get you any where then contact Jesse Williams at 757-382-4440 or 4400. Do not let the person on the phone tell you they will have Jesse Williams call you back. You can also email him at [email protected] or the legal department Michael Marino at 201-392-6100 All You Panasonic customers quite being sheep.
