Parcelhero arranged collection of a wall mounted juke box via UPS. The box was packaged with thick card, a thick layer of bubble wrap all round and thick bands of fragile tape. When I went to collect the box from UPS in Swansea I found that it had been smashed. When I pointed this out a male employee of UPS who had done a damage inspection stated that it was not packaged properly because it goes up a roller conveyor and drops off the end. This happened even though there was fragile tape wrapped clearly round the box. Apparently Parcelhero are responsible for any claims made. I knew at the time that the insurance I had taken out did not cover glass but when I got the box home and opened it up I found that it had been treated so badly that circuit boards had been ripped from the mountings and hard drive etc. were lying in the bottom of the box. Components on circuit boards had been knocked off. I immediately informed Parcelhero and filed a claim for the internal damage caused. However Parcelhero rejected my claim stating it was not packaged properly. When I booked this collection the contents were stated quite clearly and it was clearly marked up as fragile. Both of these things were ignored and susequently the juke box was smashed and Parcelhero have wiped there hands of the problem. They did offer me a £15.00 credit against my next delivery which I found quite insulting to say the least. I would never use Parcelhero or UPS again, there is nothing heroic about there operation.
