La Cantina, Pasta Boy's Italian Restaurant Unjust treatment for hardworking employees Saint Petersburg Florida
Pasta Boy's Italian Restaurant makes it's servers claim a minimum of $6 per hour. That is for tips only. If you add that to the 3.15 they pay per hour, that adds up to almost $10 per hour that they are making you claim taxes on. As that goes, I pretty much claimed everything I made. I also was fired after I was hospitalized for 4 days.
The owner suppossedly covered my shift until the end of the week, however, when I called to find out if I should come back on Friday, or Monday, he told me that there was a customer complaint (apparantly while I was hospitalized) and that I was fired. How convenient.
The co-owners nephew had gotten his girlfriend a job there and she wanted my shift. I imagine it's a good thing for her to have a boyfriend that can get you the shift and job that you want because they had no other reason to fire me. I was on time every day and I worked hard my entire shift. I feel that I was screwed over and that it was not deserved. Maybe karma will get them in the end.
