I noticed that the name of the owner of Patriot Moving is listed as Randy Goldberg, and that the company is located in North Miami Beach. Anyone else go to www.switchboard.com and find that there is a Randy Goldberg living in North Miami Beach with a LISTED HOME PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS? :-) Goldberg, Randy 3406 NE 168th St, North Miami Beach, FL 33160-3061 (305) 945-6107 "Hello, may I speak with Randy, please?" :-D

A representative of Pony X-Press just submitted a rebuttal yesterday concerning a complant against Pony X-Press/National Moving Network (Patriot Moving). Maybe you should try to contact Ori. I'm sorry you had such a horrible moving day! I truly feel for you! Stuart at Patriot Moving is actually Randy Goldberg, the owner of Patriot. He's posted here as Stuart before. Make sure when the mover arrive, they give you certified copies of your weight tickets. In order to be certified, they need to conform to these guidelines. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rulesregs/fmcsr/regs/375.519.htm According to your estimate (which looks just like mine did from 2 years ago, back when they were NMN), your 300 lb cushion allows you to go up to 4600 pounds without extra charges. What weight did Pony X-Press say you had? Did Pony X-Press give you a copy of a book called the Your Rights and Reponsibilities When You Move? They are required to by law. This book (which I doubt you have, so I'll include the link) tells you about the 110% law, which states that a mover has to relenquish your load for a payment of 110% or the ORIGINAL ESTIMATE, or in your case, $1884.67 (after you factor in the $500 deposit). If they tell you that your final bill is more than the estiamte, they are supposed to deliver after getting this payment, and then bill you for the rest no less than 30 days after delivery. The problem is with scam movers like Pony X-press is that they completely ignore this federal law and hold the load hostage until the entire amount demanded is paid in cash or postal money order (in other words, untraceable funds). This is extortion, fraud, and completely illegal. But ti doesn't stop them from doing it. You have every right to attempt this scenario, but be prepared to pay whetever they ask for in cash at the time of delivery. If Ori would like to prove his/her company is a good one, they will deliver your load as required by federal law, allowing you to post the outcome in an update. Here is the link to the Rights and Responsibilities book from the Dept of Transportation. Happy reading! http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rulesregs/fmcsr/regs/375.519.htm Good luck, and please post an update when it's all done.
