I wish I would have read the report by Mike of Carlsbad, Calif a month ago about Chase Payment Tech and Payment Systems of Carlsbad, CA....as I am a small business and I was persuaded by a sales rep of Payment Systems of Carlsbad, Ca to sign a lease for equipment and credit card processing....I was shown how I could save approx $170 a month by signing up with them...and that included the lease payment. I have his proposal in writing. As you can imagine...now I am paying over $300 a month more than I was before. The worst part about this is the sales rep was a "friend". He also ripped off the business next door to me....same story. We are irrate...and we have tried everything to get out of the contract.. Mike, if you are reading this...please help...let us know who we can contact with the company that may have a concience. Everytime I call the sales rep...of course, he doesn't return my call. If I call the customer service they argue with me and when they say they are transfering me to a manager I always get a voice mail. How do they sleep at night?? I want everyone to know what a scam this company is....Do not sign a thing with Payment Systems!!! The other business owner and I are trying to find out if he signed up other people in our area...we have an appointment with a lawyer...I guess that is our only option.

I worked for a while for Payment Systems as an independent contractor. I received about 3 hours of training and then went out and sold. Every customer I sold to was dissatisfied. I sold based on the training I was given and everyone I sold to had a higher fees plus a ridiculous rental agreement. Contact the Attorney General of California. If enough businesses do hopefully they will be shut down and fined. I believe their Dallas office is done. The BBB has stopped accepting complaints since the company has not responded to the last 82 of them. This company is a flat out scam. To any current employees, you would be doing less harm to just steal the 200 to 500 directly from the business owner to match your commission than trying to sell a contract that will cost them thousands.

Sue,
I feel your pain. I had a very similar experience with Payment Systems in Carlsbad. I was lied to about their rates and after I switched over to their company the nightmare began. Higher rates than promised, hidden fees and the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Couldn't get the sales manager who signed me up or his boss to return over 20 phone calls I made to complain. After I canceled with them and sent the equipment back they continued to hit my checking account with monthly charges and then took out over a $1000 for a cancellation fee. I had to do at least three stop payments and finally had to close my checking account. Ten months after I thought I was free their legal department started sending me letters demanding huge amounts of money and threatening legal action. After finally settling with them back in June of this year I recently received a collection letter from a yet another company demanding money called First Data. First Data, for reasons I don't understand, was somehow tied in credit card processing with Payment Systems. This is happening some 14 months after I canceled with payment systems. Unbelievable! The stress and anxiety they have caused me is beyond words. Feel free to contact me at 858-349-5332 and I will offer you any advice that I can.
