I recently bought a laptop computer and paid $1750 to the seller immediately after the purchase. On the second day when I log in to my Ebay account I noticed the listing of the item I bought was gone, which means my Ebay status show that I NEVER purchase that item! Later that day I received emails from Ebay telling me that the seller's id may have been use for fraudulent activities against other user. I went to Paypal and filed a claim demanding to cancel the deal and have them reverse the transaction back to my bank account. However, their response was telling me to wait for 10 days for the seller to respond and then decide whether to reimburse my money. I contacted the seller several times and no response either... Since I need a computer so bad I had to make another purchase, this time it cost around $1600, also paid immediately after the purchase. However this time the seller WON'T SHIP my item. It's been 9 days and I also contact the seller via email and no response from him! I had to file another claim via Paypal. Basically those jerks from Paypal told me to wait another 10 day for their so-called investigation...

The entire situation is extreme unfair to me. As a honest buyer, I am only looking to buy an item off Ebay, and now I can't get the item I bought and Paypal is "Kidnapping" my money which sum up to more than $3300 for 20 days.

..just curious...what are the sellers ratings and what do the comments say?

I understand you are frustrated for the funds being held. But when you use PayPal to shop they become in a sense a "moderator" for disputes. They have a duty to the buyers and sellers, not a fun job because in a dispute one side is going to be made an unhappy camper. They can't just automatically reverse charges..it has to go through a process and they deal with millions of transactions at any given time world wide..it is not like they have a personal agent just for your case and everything else is dropped.

You will get the money back or a laptop sent to you. But it seems to me you are picking some really lousy sellers. Sometimes it is worth to pay a little more to select a seller with 100% positive feedback and LOTS of transactions under their belt. If you use that tool it can be a safe way to make online purchases. Otherwise just go to a retailer next time and pay top dollar. At least you will walk out with a laptop.
