Very, very unprofessional. Any company that would allow employees to post things like this, or condone such a thing, needs to take another look at their company policy. I have never dealt with this company, and, especially after seeing the retorts on here, never would. Consumers complain. Working in the customer service industry, especially dealing with something like debt collection, is not easy, and everyone knows you run into situations like this. This was not the proper way for the company, or employees involved, to try and rectify or explain the situation. This makes the entire company look very unprofessional and incompetent, mostly because they would hire people that got onto websites concerning something like this and act this way. As a business owner I would never hire this company after seeing this, not that I have any opinion on the actual situation being discussed, but mostly from employee actions in response to this gentleman's complaint.

To all of the people on this report. To make this very fast. Justin from riverside california, you authorized your payments to be raised, you were recorded and you agreed to everything. To the person that says recordings can be altered, yes they can i agree with you 100%. But what you need to understand is that Pentagroup Financial was an office made up of over 150 people and was very sucessfull before and after His payments were ever taken and you would have to draw up a very ilaborate conspiracy theory to prove that one. Stop being a paronoid weirdo. I have been doing collections for almost 8 years now and yes it is a crappy job and i hate my life everyday for EVER got into this field. But you need to understand that being a garbage man is a crappy job too, but someone needs to do it. as long as theres garbage, theres people to pick it up. And as long as there are people in this world that dont pay their bills, NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE, there will be peopel to collect it. Do you think our fabolious country is in debt because there are collection agencies? Get real. I understand that collectors can be rude and break the law, but i take full offence to what was said about me. You want to accuse me of illegally taking money out of your account, im sorry man, in real life if we met each other we may actually get along, but your acting like a real jerk. I understand it helps you plead your case or story of NOT paying your bill, but for real, just leave it alone. I never contacted you after that, yes that kid found your rip off report.com complaint and thought it was funny to call you and then once you were on the phone i MADE him put you on the phone with me because it was a very immature thing that he did by calling you and doing that. All i was trying to do was recover your NSF.You people out there that bash collections and then want us to look on the other side of the fence at you, are a joke. Why dont you look at the otherside at us. We are all in debt up to our eyes, in the last year i lost my home, i lost my jaguar, and now im battling for my kids. I STILL have to come to work everyday and call you to try to collect your debt. You THINK we dont know what its like?! i take offence to that more than anything. Dont tell me for a second i dont understand! But i am paid to call you and collect your unpaid bills. You may hate me or others that contact you, but please understand that our lives suck more than yours because not only are we in debt, but we have to listen to everyone elses depressing storys all day long but in the end try to hold you accountable for what you've done or havent done for that matter. Everyone complains about everything. GET OVER YOURSELVES. THIS IS LIFE. WE OWN THAT LITTLE 1 BY 1 SQUARE FOOT OF SPACE WE STAND IN. NO ONE ELSE. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, THEN CHANGE IT!And to the person that came on this rediculous site and wanted to talk about interest rates, GET A LIFE! You think me or any other collector can change that?! Grow up and realize that this country sucks and it will only change when people pay their bills! you do realize that interest rates are a threat right? they are put there so people fear not paying their bills! Read some more, or get a smarter group of friends, maybe smoke some pot so you can open that shallow mind of yours to see how life really is.To the collector from illionis, i appreaciate you sticking up for collections as an industry, these people are childish that come on here and try to sound like they arent scum bags. One peice of advice to all of you debtors out there: PAY YOUR BILLS. EVERYONES LIVES WOULD BE 100 TIMES BETTER. STOP MAKING EXCUSES LIKE THE ECONOMY IS BAD. MCDONALDS, BURGER KING, WENDYS, AND GUESS WHAT, EVEN COLLECTIONS ARE ALWAYS HIRING! IF YOU WANTED TO WORK, YOU WOULD. IF YOU WANTED TO PAY YOUR BILLS, YOU WOULDYOU THINK YOUR LIVES SUCK?! WHY DONT YOU TAKE A LOOK AT US. 90% OF PEOPLE IN COLLECTIONS ARE HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUTS, OR THEY DIDNT GOTO COLLEGE, OR THEIR ON DRUGS. THE OTHER 10% LIKE MYSELF, FOUND OURSELVES IN POSITIONS WHERE WE NEEDED TO MAKE MONEY FAST. I for one was 17 years old with a baby on the way. SO NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO THINK YOUR LIVES SUCK THINK ABOUT THIS. cOLLECTORS LIVES SUCK TO BEGIN WITH, THEN ON TOP OF THAT WE ARE PAID TO CALL ALL OF YOU PEOPLE THAT DONT PAY THEIR BILLS AND WE HAVE TO LISTEN TO STORIES ABOUT HOW YOUR LIVES SUCK. WE NEVER GET AWAY FROM LIFE SUCKING!

I find the commentary by the employee to be one sided, and
does not take into account the sleazy practices now permeating his/her
industry. There once was a thing called USURY LAWS that used to protect
customers. This stopped credit card companies from raising the APR beyond
12%! Over this amount it was against
the law. Banks changed this through lobbying and padding pockets of politicians.
Imagine this a reasonable rate? Give the tenor of the comments by the Orchard
employee, at the least a very nasty way to communicate under any circumstances,
this makes it clear to me (a potential customer) that ORCHARD BANK and it
affiliate does not care about or respect the public in any way. It is obvious
in this thread. Watch the film MAXED OUT and listen to the same arrogant
responses from those that are in business to defraud the public. This practice
now has contaminated the American financial landscape. There are ways to make a
profit that do not require that you target the poor and the destitute. May this
employee loose their job!

The employees answering here is just that...credit card debt or any debt is not ALWAYS due to disregard of the bill or the payment. You treat people like dirt and are extremely rude, arrogant and think your better than thou. Clearly stated for the meager commissions or you can't get and honest job. No where in ANY law does it state you can do as you please, say as you please or act as you please. If you choose to do that then that the insults that are well deserved.
Guaranteed every employee or ex-employee who made a statement here has had some financially difficulty at some point in their life if you disagree your lying.

Debt Collectors doctor those so called recordings, I work in Telecom and I know it can be done. DOCTORED RECORDINGS DO NOT STAND UP UNDER ANALYSIS! Yes you can request that the court have the recordings analyzed - all the edits will show up and those make the recordings fraud.

Pentagroup Financial equires all transactions made over the phone be recorded on a private line for the debtors protection and the agencies protection... if we dont have you on recording saying "i agree to a pymnt of $250 on 3/7/9 out of this checking account that has debtors said name on it" the company will not process the pymnt... that way losers like you cant say you didnt approve the pymnt and the people doing the economy a favor like us collectors cant get accused of illeglly taking money... maybe if you paid your bill 3 years ago when you opened it you wouldve had something better to do then come on here and lie to make you look good... get a life

I don't completely understand how people in the collections industry are horrible people? As far as getting a real job, you can thank yourself, and many of your peers for keeping us employed. If you're actually up to date with the laws, you'll see that the laws are in favor of people who try to cry wolf because of what has happened to them. I realize that people fall behind on bills, it's life. It happens to everyone, but there comes a point when you have to "pony up" (as stated earlier) and actually pay the debts you've created. In retrospect, thanks to Mr. Bush, he's taken the appropriate side of the law, and actually favored the "law breakers" side of his opinion. This is about the only smart thing he's done while being our leader. In case you haven't noticed, filing for bankruptcy is much, much harder than it was a few years back, and that again is because of people who choose to not pay their debts! Thanks Mr. Bush, we all appreciate what you've done. Bottom line, collections is never going away, maybe getting harder to collect, but NEVER GOING AWAY. Reasoning, people are over spending thieves, who like to pretend that a credit card is not real money. Here's a news flash America, plastic is money, and risky money at that. But the realization is that Americans are not going to stop anytime in the near future, and I must thank the people that continue to NOT pay their bills, because I make an extremely good living at what I do. AND THAT WON'T CHANGE EITHER !

I can see the name calling and the horrible business practices have not stopped emanating from Orchard Park NY like a foul stench. I don't suppose that this commenter from Orchard Park NY happens to work for Pentagroup Financial....IN ORCHARD PARK NY. I suppose everyone else who has had horrible experiences with Pentagroup are full of it too. As I had stated in my first post I did originally give them my account number and then when they tried to up my payments without my agreeing I cancelled the account and filed complaints with the FTC among other organizations. I made the mistake of letting this credit card go delinquent and I made the mistake of giving this horrible company personal information. The first mistake is being worked on and the latter is taken care of as I now know not to deal with companies who flout the law and treat people like dirt so they can make money off of peoples misfortune. To all collectors who do not follow the law of the United States in regards to debt collection and treat people like they are subhuman for having debt... Get a real job. For those of you that follow the law and whose mothers raised them right.... Thank you because you are needed in this industry.

And just how praytell did they make an "unauthorized" withdrawal?? Your bank told you it was "fraud"?? Something fishy here. what do you think, they just pulled your account number and routing number out of thin air? Come on fess up: You authorized it, THEN decided to be a deadbeat and changed your "mind".

Where in God's name would Pentagroup obtain your checking information from? Do you think we have the powers to just call your bank and get that information. Obviously you're not telling the entire side of the story. It's people like yourself that make agencies, respectable agencies, have a bad name. You gave your information, then when it comes time to "pony up", you say that we stole your money without your permission? Makes me sick.
