Pentair Pentair Water Pool and Spa Provided defective pool equipment, still not working after 6 service calls in 9 months! Minneapolis, Minnesota
After purchasing a new Pentair pool heater in January 2010, we have been calling warranty service nearly every month to repair the heater. Already 6 warranty calls in 9 months, and a 7th one today. I wrote a letter to corporate, which was as typical of large companies, completely ignored. They refuse to replace the entire heater. They have admitted to faulty assembly on their Chinese assembly line. They nearly torched my house by providing a heater with a propane heating chamber that was not properly bolted together, causing the steel chamber to burn through nearly catching the heater casing on fire (which is within 1 foot of my house). I continually need to put up with nonsense repair people, which keep complaining that the unit isn't bad, but of course they keep replacing one part or another... the main heating chamber, the igniter, the wiring harness, on and on... and each time, I am WITHOUT my heater -- no access to my spa -- for 2 weeks at a time. Do you think I will be compensated for this? Why aren't they calling me back? Why is no one taking this seriously? I seem to have no recourse here. I keep spending lots of my time and effort on warranty work? Don't you think about 6 calls -- now 7 -- I can get a NEW heater???
