People Research Group Division Of Mystery Shop Online.com sending fraudulent checks for encashment Hiram Georgia
I received a $4,500.00 check and a letter from people research group. The check however says a different company. This $4,500.00 check was issued to me by the sw transportation inc from dallas texas and it is drawn from live oak state bank. The letter instructed me to keep $400.00 for my pay as a mystery shopper and was asked to call an 800 number to get an instructions from somebody to wire the money back via money gram and spend $100.00 shopping spree and after that evaluate walmart.
Since this deal sounds too good to be true and based on my financial experience of working as a banker I went ahead and made a call and spoke to the manager of sw transportation. I asked him why is he issuing me a $4,500.00 check just to do a mystery shop? i was told by the manager of the s.w. corporation that this is a fraud and i should contact my local police. I went further to research the company on line and i found similar stories. i will go ahead to report this incident to my fraud department at the financial instituion that i work at in order to save other innocent people regarding this scam.
