I bought 2 tires from Pep Boys back in July, one of these tires has a manufacturer flaw.  I took it to my local inspection station and they took the wheel off, took the tire off, checked everything and could not find a foreign object in the tire or any reason why it would  regularly loose air.  The tire rims and wheel rims were clean of the slightest tag or impediment. So I called Pep Boys.

They set an appointment and I took it in. I arrived on time at 9:30 am.  They took the car into the garage at 9:35 am. And at 9:40am they came out and said it was done.  Now, understand I was sitting in the waiting room with nothing between me and my car but a single thickness cement block wall and a flimsy swing door. I did not hear any Hydralic Lug Wrench noise, so I know they didn't take the wheel off.

The tire was dry, so I know they didn't dip it into a water bath.  But yet in their infinite wisdom, concluded the tire was fine and had no issues.  They did suggest that maybe they initially put the tires on, they may have forgotten to remove a small paper tag and that may have created the space that allowed for air to be released.

This is clearly an example of seeing an woman come into their store, assuming they don't have a clue about their automobile and can send them on their way without lifting a finger to actually examine the problem area, because as we know women are clueless when it comes to automotive stuff.  Unfortunately, this woman worked on her own car for 42 years, until the engine compartment became so tight you couldn't put your hand in it without a floor lift.
